On a nice day in the middle of the winter, I tried this deck and fence cleaner to clean the green mold off of my trex deck. I used a grout brush to get between the planks. It worked wonderfully! I did take before pictures, but it snowed before the deck dried, and I haven't been able to get any pics of the after. I usually power wash, but this is a good cleaner for between power washing. It was very easy to use and doesn't harm the plants.

I have probably used 3 different deck cleaners on my mother's front deck. None of those made a noticeable difference. It was only a few minutes after I applied this product. I could see stuff starting to lift from the wood. I wish that weather had permitted us to finish the entire deck. Because, for once I had remembered to take a before photo. But it didn't. So, I will tell you that my mother's deck had pretty bad discoloration to it. And the little bit I was able to treat came out looking amazing. I 100% recommend trying this stuff before anything else.

The weather is a bit of an issue for a full blown deck cleaning so I did a two scoop potion to test the Star Brite product on one of the stair sections of our deck. This deck is canopied by a giant white ash tree which rains sticky sap over the course of the warm season. The sap coating then collects wind blown dust and dirt and by the end of the season the deck is a grubby mess. After applying the mixed deck cleaner to both the steps and risers, I worked it in with a corn bristle broom and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Then I used a garden hose with a flow restriction nozzle to spray the solution off. Even while wet it was clear that most of the gunky residue was completely gone! There were a couple of small areas that are going to require additional attention but it appears those areas may not have gotten the pre-rinse broom scrubbing.

For tough jobs, this cleaner is likely going to require some light elbow grease. But overall, the results are impressive. I'm planning to order more to refresh our cedar fences and other deck.

Cleaned my deck before winter to try to get ahead of it before the spring. The decking I used it on is a composite material. It did a very good job of cleaning it. The solution is simple to use and it made a lot. I am pleased with the small container and how much it made. I had plenty to do the deck and then some leftover that I used on the stairs. The stairs are actually real wood. That allowed me to try it on composite and wood. I think composite is always easier to clean but the wood still cleaned up well enough.

The top benefit of this deck cleaner for me was it's safety with plants. I was real concerned for awhile how we were gonna keep the new deck clean and not injure my careful landscaping. We have composite decking, and this is safe for that as well. You do need to scrub for oil and areas around a barbeque grill.

This makes eight gallons, which is more than enough for a tiny deck like mine.
