Great kitchen tool for one or two people
Ahcma✓ Verified Purchase•October 21, 2023
Great tool for a widower to cook creative balanced meals for one. No more pot pies for this kid every other night. I have an extremely busy work schedule. I can prep the meal, leave it in the fridge and when ready to go, dinner less than 45 minutes. I have not tried the slow cook features yet, but it has done a fine job on everything I've cooked so far. I have used it everyday and it has been great to have a "home cooked" style meal. It is a bit pricey, but I have been eating healthier and with more varieties of meal selection.

I love my Brava, but I almost did not purchase a Brava after reading the lukewarm and mixed professional reviews available online. The Brava is highly underrated. It makes cooking healthy meals fast and minimizes dishes. The last kitchen appliance that I got this excited about was my Instant Pot. The Brava oven has quickly become an essential kitchen appliance in my house.
Meat without Smoke or Oil
I purchased a Brava as a multipurpose device that allows me to quickly cook healthy food. One of the biggest advantages is the ability to cook steak without setting off my smoke alarm. The Brava achieves an impressive sear without preheating, with meat straight out of the fridge, produces no smoke and does not require oil on the meat. It cooks faster with no smoke and less clean up than my other kitchen appliances. It will even allow me to cook a medium well steak for my husband without filling the room with smoke. The only other device that I am aware of that will do that is a sous vide, and I don't like the idea of cooking in plastic.
Fewer Dishes
Three zone cooking is another one of my favorite features. With 5 minutes of prep time & 15 minutes of cooking time, I can cook yellow potatoes, broccoli and fish or steak simultaneously. Then I only have one pan and one bowl to wash. That's amazing.
Multipurpose
My Brava replaces my convection oven/toaster, griddle, and air fryer.
Bacon
I discovered oven cooked bacon a few months before I got my Brava and swore that I would never cook bacon any other way. The Brava is even better due to the lack of preheating.
Customer Service
The customer service is responsive and helpful. My loaf pan arrived damaged. I got a response quickly, and they are sending a replacement.
Learning Curve/Programed Options Limitations
Although the tutorial videos are excellent, there is a learning curve with this device. When using the programed options (which has the most efficient cooking), the zones must be filled properly to avoid over or undercooking. The programed options are primarily limited to seasoning with just salt/oil. It would be great to have guidelines on converting recipes like one can do with the Instant pot. I have used Chat GPT to help me with this a little. Of course, one can use the Brava like a standard oven or air fryer, but programed options are more efficient (faster cooking and no preheating). Some more basic programed options like sautéed onions or browned stew meat would be very useful.
Temperature probe
The temperature probe is a pain to use due to the need to plug it in and tuck the wire. Then it must be unplugged (while hot). Unfortunately, the wireless version is backordered. I am hopeful that the wireless version is an improvement.
Brava Glass vs Traditional Brava
I purchased a traditional Brava due to the potential risk of infrared ocular damage with the Brava Glass. The traditional Brava oven has a camera that shows the internal contents on the top screen.

Not necessary but good to have.

The markup must be amazing for the price but if you have a brava having the correct fit trays is somewhat important. Only used the egg tray so far but looking forward to trying the others.

The media could not be loaded. I got mine a few weeks ago and has been great! In the past I've had trouble with ordering entirely too much take out because I just didn't have the energy to cook but having the Brava has made the prospect of cooking a lot less intimidating. Everything I've cooked in it has been amazing and I've been super impressed with how well it cooks meats. From grilling, to baking to braising this thing nails it every time.
Also from someone who suffers from a fair amount of decision paralysis around meals I LOVE being able to filter through the recipes in the app and easily find something that jives with the ingredients I have and the active time I want to spend. Seriously 10/10, highly recommend for anyone who struggles to find enough time in the day or gets stuck in a food rut like me.
