The connection between the two wood pieces could be fit better.
For some applications, I might suggest using copious amounts of wood glue between the wood pieces, and even where the bolt and nuts go.

The bolts go through and go into a capturing barrel-like nut you insert in the pre-drilled locations. Like a cheap, poorly fitting Ikea part.
It works good enough EVEN WITHOUT GLUE to hold up a smart projector for me. I have my shelf C-clamped to a wooden pillar (removable when not in use). If I push/lift on the shelf, it has a little give/movement. But it holds the projector sturdily, its fine for me.
Included two types of drywall anchors, the drilled hole type and the screw-in type.

If the backplate was wider it would be easier to hit a stud. To have this centered where my TV is I have to use all drywall anchors. It is holding okay though.

Nice solid shelf. A little difficult at first to hold straight but once its screwed into the wall properly he straightens itself out. This has a little weight to it so making sure this hits a beam when installing is highly recommended. I think how this has a hole in the shelf to thread the wires through. Perfect for a projector or a cable box.

This shelf is really nice! The hardware is really quality and it was easy into install. I do wish it was just slightly wider because my projectors hdmi port is in the back, however it still is large enough and works great overall. It is real wood as far as I can tell and I love how it looks.
