I've only had this stun gun for a short amount of time, but it seems like it will be effective. I have not zapped myself to test it, so I'm not sure how strong the current is. Two things ai would improve would be the flashlight and the charge indicator. With the advancements in bulb technology, there is no reason at this point why this light can't have at minimum 500 likens of light output. Second, since this being used for security, I think it's important to know the charge of the device at all times. If your life is depending on this functioning at its full potential, this should be a given. This doesn't have to be a "Swiss army knife" device, but try to make the best of the two functions it serves.

I ordered this thinking it would be nice to have for some type defense. It is loud and it might scare a lesser determined criminal. I doubt it is powerful enough to put down a determined criminal. Since mine just basically just sat on the dresser collecting dust, I figured out another use for it. It multiplied the power of my electric fly swatter ten fold. There is no escaping the power of the bug executioner.
Size makes it effective !!!

I have been around this item at my brother in laws buisness and the size is compact where it fits so comfortably in your hand especially if you were to need to use it on an attacker ! I love it and had to by it for myself for safety!

Accidentally shocked myself on the side metal strips. Didn't send me into convulsions or anything but it hurts, did stun me for a second, and feels like it burnt my fingers(but it didn't). Has a little more punch than I thought it would. It has been sitting without being charged for about a year. So probably wasn't at full capacity. Felt that through my whole body! Fun times.
