The USB floppy drive works great right out of the box with Windows 10 and 11. No drivers needed. I was even able to write old Macintosh classic floppies using third party tools! Great product!

Long ago when the digital storage revolution started, it never occurred to me that I'd someday spend an entire day swilling coffee and merging files from way, way back and not so far back and yesterday onto one giant drive, but here we are.

This USB floppy disk reader has been great to retrieve all the um, "essential" files from my 3.5 drives, without me having to yank a drive out of an old CPU and wire it up for business (which I had intended to do since... since... since... Well, you know, a while.

Was delighted to find some historical info I'd wanted a while back. Super easy to use - use a powered port though!

Great price, especially when you consider it's possible for you to have lost these tidbits (and papers and research and photos and who knows what else) forever, but now you don't have to, and it costs less than a reasonably priced sandwich.

I my old external floppy drive died and needed a replacement. I got this one to replace it. Works well to get my older files to my more recent pc and my the to CDs or DVDs for storage. My only wish for this it would have been a separate cable from the drive it self. I have yet to find an external floppy with a removable cable. This is what was damaged on my first drive.

I still have quite a few old floppy disks from the early 2000s & as my computers have evolved from those 1.44 MB days, I haven't been able to see what were on those disks. This USB floppy disk drive reunited me with those old files.

Needless-to-say, all wasn't seamless, as we no longer live in a Windows 98/ME world & many of those files were created using obsolete programs & file systems. But the ones which are still compatible can be seen again. This drive is made by TEAC, a company that I knew & used, but as a DJ for their reel to reel, cassette decks & audio equipment back in the late 70s & the 1980s.

This was a convenient way to keep using my old 3.5" floppy disks on my Windows 10 PC without dealing with the hassle of installing a dedicated internal drive. I still like to use my old floppy disks for keeping a journal and stuff, they were my flash drives before there WERE flash drives, and I am glad to be able to keep using them. This just plugged in and worked right away, and was also handy in my DOS emulator for vintage games, I installed a few from the original floppy disks using this and everything worked great.

My one complaint is that although this says it reads zip disks it does not- at least any of the sizes I tried, they're all too thick to actually fit inside of this. It works great as a regular floppy reader, but my ZIP 100 disks, slightly over twice the thickness of a floppy disk, would not fit in here. I didn't expect them to- they're an entirely different sort of disk that needs an entirely different sort of reader, but I feel the need to point out that no, this does NOT read zip disks, despite what it says, at least the kinds I own. Otherwise this worked great.
