Good enough, could be sturdier

This has been a very easy way for me to digitize my cassettes. I know there are cheaper units out there, some even by this company, but this model had the best reviews so I took a chance. It's very simple to use, and the sound quality is fine. The Play / FF / Rewind buttons seem a little flimsy, and you have to be careful so that in pushing one button you don't somehow push two. But it's held up fine (even survived a drop onto tile) so I can't complain.

In 1985, I interviewed my late grandfather for a 6th grade Oral History Project; I recorded our conversation about his activities during the Nazi Occupation of the Netherlands (1940-1945) using a fairly simple tape recorder on a Philips cassette tape (My grandfather was an active member of the Dutch Underground Resistance during World War II). Thanks to this amazing Reshow product, I was able to play said conversation to my mother during a recent visit to the United States. Needless to say, this was a priceless and invaluable experience, witnessing my own mom listen to her father's clear voice in the present day nearly four (!) decades after it had been recorded. I was able to gift my older sister the same experience, with a similarly beautiful effect. Much to my delight and relief, the quality of the sound continues to be crystal clear (I had very much dreaded that nothing would have been preserved on that "old" cassette tape more than forty years after I had first recorded it; Quite the opposite is true; It sounds like my late grandfather is actually present right in the room so to speak).
