Pretty Nifty Measuring Tape.

We have been doing some remodeling in our house and happen to come across this tape while looking at some tools. We have loved it so far. We have not had any problems with inaccurate measurements and for myself I love it because I'm not alway good with reading a tape.. Haha. Takes a little time to learn how to use the settings, but as of now we have no complaints and are enjoying it through our house remodeling.

This is a very premium and very well built tape measure at a bit of an eye watering price point. However it's definitely by far the most advanced tape measure I've ever used or seen, and the list of features is significant:
Digital readouts in whatever format you prefer - several types of each of the imperial, metric, fractional, decimal, etc.
Not one, but two separate displays for digital readout of your measures - OLED, and eInk. The first one updates very fast and turns on automatically as soon as you start measuring, and the other stores a history of your measurements. The OLED is very readable in the dark, too.
Measures either to the front as normal, or to the back of the tape measure for confined spaces.
Laser guide of measuring something with an offset.
Automatic calculation of midpoint.
Massive magnetic hook.
Rechargeable USB C battery (C to C charging works too, nice).
Similarly overbuilt belt holster with metal reinforcement and clasp.
Bluetooth app for organizing and storing measurements.
Mentions as several components being user serviceable and replaceable (nice) though not all are (like the laser) are yet on the REEKON site
Additional or replacement blades are available on the REEKON site in case you want metric or combined blades.
And I'm probably missing a couple of features, especially since this has firmware updates that will keep improving it.
In actual use, it is quite a bit heavier than typical tape measure, but due to the grip it's quite comfortable to use. The blade has an automatic brake, is wide for long reach, and very readable for analog measurements. Digital readouts make taking measurements far simpler and foolproof than before, and definitely saves time even in my amateur use.
There are however some downsides that I have to note:
No included lanyard (even though there's an attachment point for it) or a USB cable.
No distance measurement with the laser as it's only used as a reference mark. Given the price point and that there's already a laser module built in, it seems to be a bit of a downside that we don't get the same functionality in this premium tape measure that does exist on some lower priced DRO tape measures.
The battery. It uses what seems to be a proprietary camera-like battery pack, with spares or replacements available on the REEKON site. There doesn't seem to be a standalone charger so you'd need to charge extras inside the tape measure. Pricey. This is a rather baffling design choice to me that more seems to be aimed at vendor lock-in, rather than using something more standard and common. For example, a pair of 18500 batteries would have had similar dimensions while being standard, commonly available, affordable, and with more capacity.
To use the app you must register for an account. Why? Give us the ability to use basic features without an account or cloud functions, and then if we want them we can register.
To register, the app asks for first and last name. Again, I don't see why that's needed.
Bluetooth pairing is a bit strange and different from how I've used other bluetooth devices. The tape measure is automatically found and paired without having to do anything on the tape measure itself like going into pairing mode. This makes me wonder how this would work with multiple users and tape measures on a jobsite.
During my first attempt to update the firmware, it failed with an Error 64. Eventually through some trial and error and reflashing, I got past that only to get stuck on calibration. Why would updating the firmware even require recalibration of the blade readout? Why is it needed if the blade has reference marks on the bottom? Quite annoying.
The recalibration needs you to be either fairly precise over how far you extend the blade, or to use gage blocks from 1 to 4 inches. If you don't, the measurements will be off.
After getting repeated failures on the recalibration I found a forum thread that suggested reinstalling the app (really?). Amazingly, that did the trick and I was able to complete the calibration using the final step that required extension all the way out to 276 inches. Which is where I noticed that it now wouldn't read 0 properly so I had to redo the calibration all over again. Sigh. Thankfully this time around I got it adjusted better, and the calibration stayed put.
The manufacturer looks to stand by its product judging by the website and forum participation, so hopefully they can improve on some of the aspects above at some point.
So, in summary, the issues and nitpicks mentioned above do bring down the score for me to around 3.5 stars, but I'm rounding up to 4 for the professional users that need an extremely durable DRO tape measure for repeated measurements. There are other DRO tape measures out there, but this one definitely has them beat overall for professionals on features despite the cons, as long as you can afford the premium.

Good:
-Product seems high quality and well made.
-Measuring tool offers great features for our diy projects.
-Smart capabilities are very useful.
Bad:
-Bulkier than expected.
-Lack of battery indicator while charging.
-Laser is for clarifying measurements, not for distance measurements.
-Charging process could be better; device cannot be used while charging.
I ordered the REEKON T1 Tomahawk Digital Tape Measure. We like the quality and excellent features for DIY projects. The product includes a useful sheath for easier storage and portability. We like that the tape includes clear and large numbers. The power buttons on the unit are easy to see and use. We like the smart capabilities for reliable project planning, but we did not like that the firmware update required recalibrating the entire device. Overall, we think this is an impressive product that will provide accuracy for our various diy projects.

I'll be honest, I am not the target audience for this tool; but it is FANTASTIC for my hobby!
I play a LOT of tabletop wargames and there is always a question if something is exactly 9 inches away or not. As a judge for these events, this tool is a GAME CHANGER and takes out 99% of any questions on measurements. With this amazing tool, I was even asked to come measure out things for the high table(s) at events to ensure that accuracy is maintained as there was some fairly serious money riding on those games with the placements at the end.
Overall, this is my favorite measurement tool ever!
