Works great but needs tweaks or planning for what you want to put on it

Works great but needs tweaks or planning for what you want to put on it. In my case I mainly wanted to put series of tv shows, which even on blu-ray the boxes are dvd height. This means leaving off one shelf and another shelf only being tall enough for cds, which you can just throw some boxes on it sideways. Other than that the shelves are great, nice and sturdy for as lightweight as the unit is and once loaded very solid.

Easy to put together. Just the right size for my needs.
Functional with a few minor quibbles

I bought this product for the storage of DVDs and CDs. There's a lot that's good here, and a few things that are less than perfect. Here are my observations:
- My tape measure says the unit will hold about 660 standard DVDs (7/16" cases), assuming that you count the top shelf, which means you'll need to use the included dividers as sides for that shelf. Pretty efficient storage. Actually, using factory cases, the ten shelves are holding ~50 per shelf, with ten shelves. If 7mm cases were used, there would be room for a LOT of disks.
- It turned out that I had so many DVDs, I only used a few of the spacers, so there were plenty for me.
- Spacing the shelves for DVD cases means that two shelves are left over, unused. I'll order another unit and space the shelves for CDs, haven't done that yet. I assume that spacing the unit for CDs will use all the shelves.
- The unit comes with large adjustable feet. Not sure yet whether I will fasten the unit to the wall, It may be adequate to adjust the feet for a little backwards lean. No kids in the house.
- The large adjustable feet mean that it's not possible to install two units flush against each other. The feet are about 1" wider on each side than the shelf unit, so there would be a 2" space between two units. It had been my intention to zip-tie two units to each other for a clean installation. To accomplish that it would be necessary to go to the hardware store and figure out how to cobble together some different feet. That would be possible but would take some thought and effort. Not sure yet how I will approach this. Maybe as simple as substituting bolts with the same threading for the feet, but the bolts would have heads too small for good stability, which is where the creativity will come in. Maybe a bolt, a fender washer, and a nut.
- Other reviews say the shelves are flimsy. They are not flimsy - they are plenty strong. What is flimsy, however, is the single cross bar at the back of each shelf which spans the entire width of the unit, creating a stop bar to keep the items on the shelves from being pushed too far back. It the manufacturer put one support in the center of that cross bar, from the shelf up to the cross bar, it would stiffen and neaten it up. That element of the unit is sloppy.
- if 95" of wall were available, it would be possible to use spare shelves to bridge between two units, and everything would tie together. Could make a nice display. Unfortunately, my wall is about 6" too small. :-(
- Suggestion: if the shelves are spaced for efficient DVD fit, there is room for two shelves to be spaced slightly larger. Some factory DVD cases are a bit oversized, like box sets for instance. I'm using the top shelf and the first shelf down for those. Might be smart to anticipate this by spacing one other shelf slightly taller, maybe the bottom shelf.
For the price and the functionality, I am satisfied and have ordered #2 for CDs. Appearance.... eh, appearance is fine. It's adequate. It's functional. It's tidy enough. If my observations change with use, I'll update.

Just make sure you hear the click when snapping the "collars" that hold up the shelves on the frame poles together"¦..If you do not, the shelves will not be secure"¦.there is a small line inside each half of the collar"¦.it should be lined up with the indented line on the frame pole"¦.once you figure that out assembly is easy"¦..also note"¦.each half of the collar is marked to show the top"¦.
Perfect for CD’s but

Perfect for CD's, good for Blu-ray but not so much for DVD's. If they would make the poles about 3-4 inches taller or remove one shelf it would be perfect. I started with one shelf all the way down and one shelf as high as it will go but no matter what you do with the remaining shelves, you can only make the top shelf and one other shelf to accommodate DVD's.
