I did not intend using this as a media storage unit so I very carefully measured all my collectibles out so I could insure they would fit in the shelves dimensions as shown. Only problem, the width shown is the base of the unit at its widest point. The actual cabinet's usable area is 5" smaller than the stated size. I did factor in the loss of three risers but the base is 3+ more inches wider than the shelves are themselves. So although it is a nice looking finished unit (not sure why so many people state they are having problems with assembly because it's easy as long as you follow the directions), I can't use it now because my collectibles won't fit.

very heavy, once put into place and filled - don't expect to move it around at all unless your extremely strong. Little disappointed in construction, had some problems putting together, as when dealing to press board and pegs..cracked one holder hole out entirely trying to adjust. Once put together does the job. Holding about 350 DVD movies and maybe 100 small packaged diskes. Only real problem is shelf placement, would have liked to had space to held 6 full shelves for my movies, but could only fit 5 and one smaller shelf for regular DVD cases. But fit my collection so am content. Might of kept looking for better construct if I had seen actual product before purchase. Did have little shipping problem with initial shipment taking a lot of extra time. Sent several "this product will arrive on (date)' and each one didn't mark arrival until I contacted Amazon, they rectified the problem quickly and efficiently.

We really like this unit for our son's extensive movie and game collection and is MUCH better than buying shelves. This allowed us to store media without taking up much room and also is close enough to a chair that we can sit and spin it to find something.

The wood is typical pressed board material. But when installed it is sturdy and looks really nice, but I would not expect it to look great if you plan to treat it roughly. Installation was very easy although a bit confusing at first trying to deciper the pictures provided. In the end there was not much to it though and I did the install by myself. A power screwdriver came in handy. You get plenty of shelves and can be arranged in a variety of heights.

From some comments I was worried about the plastic lazy susan supplied, but it works very well and for normal use I see no need to upgrade. It has worked fine for several weeks thus far and does great with our tower at least 3/4 full of DVD's and games. If you're going to turn this thing many many times a day every day while fully loaded then you might want something better, but I don't see it breaking anytime soon with normal use. The lazy susan is plastic, but then again half my car seems to be plastic these days.

Not a bad value but I still think for what I got, the price is a little high.

This holds 489 DVD's by laying one shelf group on their side due to height restriction. The quality is good and item looks nice. Very easy to assemble. Unfortunately, my DVD collection totals 667 and this item was not large enough. It would be helpful if the description would have included the number of items it would accommodate (i.e. CD/DVD/blue ray, etc.). My picture below also includes book ends on top with an additional 74 DVD's.

This is a nice cabinet! I'm using this at my work in a public conference room to store our wireless router, the phone we plug in, etc. The cabinet is nice and sturdy and looks good in a professional environment. The back of it is made of particle board so it is easy to drill into if you need to run cords through it. Overall it looks nice, is sturdy, and is definitely better quality than most "build yourself cabinets". I only deducted a start because this thing came in a million pieces:)
