The directions on how to put in the batteries is ...
Not Netflix•June 1, 2016
The directions on how to put in the batteries is nonexistant. I had to visit a couple youtube videos before I found how to open the battery campartment. Once I figured that out the product works very well. The noise cancelling properies work as advertised. the quality is very low. I had to bend one of the battery brackets back into place in order to install the battery and this was a new one fresh from the factory.
Hands down the best in the shooting industry

I'm a former professional shooter and can say that this brand is hands down the best technology I've used. The only regret that I have is that it was not invented in my teen years; my ears could have been spared of accidental decibels making them ring every time when knuckle heads on the shooting range started to shoot without a warning. They allow you to have a normal conversation while having them on your ears, yet, react right away to shut down the microphone embedded in them when a certain number of decibels is reached, thus, protecting your hearing. Volume is adjustable for those like me who have a sensitive hearing. It's like having to skip advising your counterpart to speak on a lower voice. You're in control of that. No, mute option is not available even though sometimes I wished that that technology was also invented :) Great investment, you'll love them right away! Highly recommended.
it can be a little confusing but takes like five seconds to get used to

Military and LEO guys: if you don't have a set of these you are wrong! The volume control works well enough that it gives your hearing a bit of a boost, so unlike the ear plugs that make hearing possible there no degradation, so no one is sneaking up on you. The headset will cut out for any loud noises and any sharp snaps, for example dropping a magazine, it can be a little confusing but takes like five seconds to get used to.
They are a little uncomfortable if you are wearing a helmet, but if you adjust your chinstrap so its a little loose its fine. Plus the behind the back of the head accessory might help even more.
Yeah the price tag seems a bit high, but as they say "buy once, cry once." Plus if you are like me and your life sometimes depends on being able to hear, these wont get you killed.
Way better than ear plugs. I would buy again.

Not reccomended

Poor battery placement makes swapping them out a PITA. Had one (fresh) Duracell leak in the headset damaging the contacts. Not sure if this was caused by the Peltors or the battery. Notes in the battery compartments state "Do not store with batteries installed". That's really dumb as taking out the batteries is not a quick task and I'm not going to take them out after every range visit. On/off knobs are prone to being turned on accidentally when tossed in a range bag. Overall a poor design with questionable sound protection.
Absolute waste of money, do not buy, you will regret it.

These deserve negative stars, worst product I've ever used, no joke.
Non-existent hearing protection, non-adjustable, incredibly uncomfortable, difficult to install/change batteries, and lousy ambient volume enhancement.
