I ordered this for my daughter for Christmas. She has arthritis in her hands, which makes using a pastry bag painful. She said this allows her to be able to decorate an entire cake without having to stop and take breaks to relieve the pain. Suggests purchasing more than one for multi colors.

Yes, there are lots of places for improvement. However, its 11.5 oz capacity and six strokes per fill makes it possible to hand the tool, a tray of puffs, and a (really big) bag of cream to a novice and expect near perfect results for a lot of snacks.
A pastry bag is faster, if you have the time for the training and tolerance for waste. This rugged, repeatable tool means a poke and a thumbstroke get the same product.from your adolescent helper as a much more valuable (higher paid) assistant. Even better, the apprentice gains the sense of possible mastery. They now can look at a tool for its possible shortcomings, the refill time.
It's a small kitchen, low volume tool with very useful features.

Very disappointing, the back portion pops off every 3 pushes and their are cheap plastic parts. Do not buy this, it's cheap.

The threads on the back end are too shallow and don't allow this to tighten well. After a few "pumps", it blows off of the threads. Also, the thumb "thing" used to push the plunger is plastic and will surely break. Very disappointing.

Material is cheap - Had one before but thought I would give it another go and have only used the new one a handful of times and the bottom metal attachment has started to loose its colour and become black, also the spring is no longer functional. I only hand wash and do it carefully. Stainless steel should not do this. Perhaps the only part that is stainless steel is the cylinder and not the rest. So disappointed with this product.
