bought this a year and a half ago to allow me to move my new bandsaw, which weights 28lbs. The base is rated for 400lbs. not even close. The cam's used to raise it up are made out of flimsy material. I don't move the bandsaw very often but each time is a chore because to lower the first wheel, your essentially picking up almost all of the 280lbs. The cam piece that you push down on with your foot is about 3/4" across. Unless you are wearing very solid sole shoes it will hurt your foot. Second problem. I move my saw rarely (every 3-4 months) but each time it became successively harder. Last month I couldn't the wheel to lower at all. After getting down on my hands and keees to inspect the cam, I saw why over time the cam had bent. In the picture the top one is brand new, the bottom is what it looked like after 4 or 5 times I used it. Portemate replace the cam without question even though I bought it a year a a half ago but I doubt I'm the first person to have this problem. IF I had to guess I'd say the rated capacity of this base is probably closer to 150lbs.

Received this quickly (Amazon Prime) and purchased this for an older Craftsman 10" Table Saw. The unit comes un-assembled of course and was very easy to put this together and adjust to the size that I needed. I purchased this after comparing other items since this model has metal (Aluminum) handles and not plastic. During assembly I ran into a problem where the threads were manufactured incorrectly on one of the swivel casters but was able to file the end to get this to work but it's still not right. The second issue I had was the aluminum handles to lift or lower the casters gouge into the finish when they are used. This is just a poor design. I was able to use some thin washers to space the handles out so this won't happen but the damage to the finish is already done. Once assembled I placed it under my Table Saw and the unit works very well!!

Nicely made and reliable. I've had one of these for several years and just purchased this one. Because they are so adjustable, they are fiddly in the assembly. But once they are fitted to whatever you set on them, they hold their adjustment well. The instructions show to face the bolts inward with the nut on the inside...But I find that may scratch machine cabinet faces. I assemble mine with the nuts to the outside, giving more room on the interior perimeter.

Great base- purchased for my 6" Delta jointer which weights at least 150+ lbs. Pretty easy to put together. Lever to lift is made of metal and does not bend under the weight. Rolls well, not tippy. I am thinking of buying another for my table saw. Carpenter tested and approved. I have been a carpenter for 40 years and know good tools. This is a good tool. enjoy.

This worked great for my Craftsman Miter Saw and Stand. I've had it for years and lugged it in and out of the garage and decide to give this a try. This makes it a breeze to roll in and out. It's solid and compact, definitely recommend.
