Using this four times a week for five years

And all that has broken is the front handle which does not effect the use whatsoever. We are cooking for ten people vegetarian diets and could not be without this workhorse. It has lasted twice as long as other brands and I expect it to last another 3-4 years. Just make the front handle metal Futura! When it finally does give up the ghost, I'll buy the newest model.

This is not dishwasher safe. Description doesn't say that and in its instruction booklet this is mentioned in fewest words possible somewhere in a long paragraph of instructions at some page in almost middle of booklet.

too low pressure. the weight on top is too light. Grains are a little harder for same cooking time than other models i have. Work around is to compensate by cooking a little longer.

I have several larger high-end pressure cookers (Kuhn Rikon, Fissler, Instant Pot), that I love. However,
for daily use, I prefer the Futura 2 liter pressure cooker to cook small meals. It is well made, very easy to use/clean, and comes to pressure very quickly. I like the portion control of cooking small meals without tons of leftovers. I've made Pork Carnitas, Rice and Sausage, Arroz con Pollo,
Black Beans, Turkey Cutlets, Chicken Wings, and "Fried" Rice. Everything so far has come out
delicious. It comes with a nice recipe book, but I have not made any of the recipes because
I learned to cook without recipes; just by watching. Unlike my other pressure cookers, the gasket
for the Futura does not retain a strong food odor.
Some folks mentioned that they did not like the way the lid opens and closes. I just watched
a video on Youtube, practiced a little, and now it's second nature.
I really like this pressure cooker size and wish that the company would come out with a 2 Liter
version for Induction Cooktops.

Best design for a gas stove pressure cooker out there

I have a larger one of these I have been using for several years so I knew I would love this smaller one. We have a propane stove that this pressure cooker works great on. Garbanzo beans after soaking for a day will cook in 18 minutes. Short grain rice cooks in 3 minutes. Since I work and want to be able to cook not eat out of cans or frozen microwave meals. These pressure cookers are great for me to use almost every day.
