Best $140 you'll spend on your bass rig

I was on the fence between the Tech 21 bass DI and this one, but the overdrive option sold me. We've actually been using this pedal for our bass player for the last few months, and it absolutely rocks. We play a lot of 90s/2000 heavy rock, and the clean sound and the overdrive are absolutely bomb. We play a lot of Tool/SOAD/Godsmack sort of music, and this thing nails it.
To top that off, I pulled this thing out for a country recording session at my home studio last weekend, and coupled with a decent active bass, this thing just nails a solid, tasty recorded tone without a lot of fuss or EQ/Compression after the fact.
So for $60 less than the Tech 21, with a built in noise gate for the overdrive? Buy the damn thing before they wise up, seriously!

I love this pre amp

I paired it with the studio bass compressor and it helped me defining my notes on the low B amazingly. I needed just a tiny bit of gain to help me find my spot in the mix amongst two downtuned guitars and now there is bass in it!!
I'm a fan of mxr products and as always this one did not disappoint. I just need to fiddle with it for a couple of weeks to fully appreciate the potential of the DI+ but so far I adore this pedal.

Elemento de la cadena de efectos que ha sido de gran ayuda para tener siempre mi sonido disponible en cualquier sala de ensayo y escenario, los controles ofrecen un amplÃo abanico de configuraciones y la distorsión es buena
Does what it says it does and more!

I bought this DI box and EQ/Distortion pedal because I often play through unfamiliar and older amps when I travel by air to venues. This box allows me to emulate the two channels I have on my Aguilar head at home by providing clean and distorted channels. Including the Bypass option, I have three sounds accessible by footswitch.
When playing through an amp with no DI, this gives me the option to DI into the board rather than mic the amp. All the EQ, color and noise gate controls work as advertised. This box allows me to pack light and know I will get the sound I want regardless of the amp or bass (active or passive) that I will use at the venue (we usually rent rather than ship equipment).
One note: If you use effects they have to be connected ahead of this pedal otherwise they will not be available via the DI to the board. To round out my travel kit I use a Boss TU-3 Chromatic Pedal Tuner which allows me to mute while tuning, a MXR Bass Envelope Filter Effect Pedal and an old Digitech Chorus.
