After looking at many different options for a clip-on tuner, I finally decided to take a chance on this one. It didn't have as many total reviews as other options, but to me it seemed to have the fewest "utter disappointment" reviews. So far, looks like I made the right choice.

Right out of the box after inserting the included battery, my 13-year-old daughter tuned her ukulele that she got for Christmas. Up until now she'd been tuning by ear.

Next, I tried it out on my 5-string bass. As you can see from the picture, the tuner picked up that low B 5th string with no problem. Word of advice: mute the other four strings and give the tuner a couple seconds to pick up the pitch on that 5th string. It's not as instantaneous as it is when tuning the E, A, D, and G strings.

So far, I completely satisfied. As a matter of fact, I might just buy a second one so that my daughter can keep one for herself.

In conclusion, I share the sentiment of another reviewer: don't overthink it, just put this puppy in your shopping cart and buy it. If you're shopping based on price range like I was, you can't go wrong.

It is a versatile and good looking tuner. It worked ok on my 6 string guitars but not well on my 12 strings even in the chromatic mode. I had issues in a noisy environment like in the cafe where I play but was ok at home.

I purchased this product and was quite pleased from the get go. I made a PVC flute from scratch and wanted it tuned in the key of G since I was basing it on the Native American design . When tuning a wind instrument you will use the Chromatic feature and the nice thing about the Real Tuner is that it defaults sets itself at the C (Chromatic setting ) so there is no guessing . The other settings are readily understandable G-guitar , B -bass , V-violin and U- ukulele . It was my first endeavor into the world of flute making and when I went to tune the flute it came out as a perfect G . An added feature that I like quite well is that it automatically will turn itself off after three minutes of non use . Something that I find essential for my actively forgetful mind ...lol Either I am a genius flute maker or I just got lucky but one thing is for sure I couldn't have known how smart I was if it wasn't for the Real Tuner confirming it for me....................A story that I will be telling around the campfire for many years to come .

I purchased the tuner in January to use on my ukulele. I quickly decided it was the best of tuner of the several I had used earlier. It has all the feature that I will ever need. I especially like its size and brightness. It is far more usable than the smaller units that required very good light to be legible. My eyesight might be a factor, but I have zero issues with the Real Tuner. After five months of use, the tuner stopped working. I assumed it needed a new battery and tried several. It would not work. I contacted customer service asking if there were any trouble shooting steps. Lisa explained that if new batteries that were properly installed did not work, there was nothing more I could do. She then said that the tuner was under warranty and that a new unit would be sent. It arrived promptly and works perfectly. The warranty period is an amazing three years, unheard of for most electronic devices. Surely glad i made this purchase.

Tuned classical and steel string acoustic as well as I can. 60 years experience former string teacher with tons of beginners tuned up each day. Easier to use than most I've seen.
