Clamp does not hold

These were bought to tie down a power chair on a cheap trailer. One day the chair shifted and the strap came apart. I thought okay I'm putting too much on it. Then I tried to use them to clamp a table while the wood glue dried. The clamps still slipped.

A little difficult to thread together. Once I put some thread on the end I was able to pull it right through.

I purchased to tie down a 325 # power wheel chair. When strung correctly they will hold a light load, but the creep and loosen with this "heavy load" The WC has 4 tie down brackets and I reasoned that these should be OK. The two at the front stayed tight while the two at the rear repeatedly loosened. I switched front and rear and still found the rear ones loose. Like another reviewer, I have used the blue straps on a set of ratchet tighteners, Seems to be the key.
