This car seat just arrived and I am so happy with it. I'm even more happy with the person who told me to choose a Medium over a Small. So I will pass on the same advice to you.
In the photo is my 4 lb 6 oz Yorkie. I wanted her to be able to lie down. I cannot imagine a small allowing her to do that so I opted for the Medium and it's perfect

My 23lb Westie loves it! The medium fits perfectly in the back seat of our Ford F-150 FX4. It's high enough so he can see out the window and wide enough for him to lay down. The seatbelt secures the seat very well!

My dog Munch absolutely loves this car seat..He got right in and snuggled down..It fits very securely in front seat of my car, just make sure you extend the seat belt and let it retract so it keeps the car seat really tight to the seat of the car..I would definitely recommend this to other with small dogs. Munch is 6 llbs, I'm not sure how comfortable a much larger dog would be. The attachment for his harness is good but for long trips I would suggest the Snoozer safety harness and seat belt extension.

I bought two of these, but I could have gone with one. My Chihuahuas are 8.5 and 9 lbs, and they both fit quite comfortably. The were excited to be looking outside instead of trapped in their kennels. Eventually, they settled down into naps, and they never fought once.

Ten years ago I got my first Lookout car seat when I realized that the swaying of a different style seat caused my Bichon Frise to get car sick. At the time, the medium car seat was labeled "oversize". Although the smaller would have fit her, I wanted her to have enough room to lie down and stretch if she chose. The stability of the seat completely eliminated her nausea and we never had another problem. Over the years the car seat has been one of her favorite places and still looks as good as new.
When I got a little 10 pound rescue dog this year, I found that although the seat easily accommodates two dogs, it becomes a problem if one is terrified of cars to the point of throwing up every trip. After two trips where my Bichon was a mess when her new sister got sick all over her :( I decided that we needed two car seats.
Naturally, I wanted to get another Lookout seat the same size. I got the first one from a rescue organization's boutique which is no longer in existence. I then checked Amazon and was so happy to find this. After comparing the measurements of the "˜medium' size Snoozer Lookout seat to my existing "˜oversize' seat, I realized that it was just a name change and that they were exactly the same. Unfortunately, they didn't have the beige color to match the old seat so I chose pink. The interior is exactly the same fleece.
I am attaching a picture of the ten year old seat next to the new seat. It would be hard for someone to tell the difference in age. I have a small Saab and the two together do take up the entire back seat. This is a great car seat. It is so lightweight but amazingly stable. Dogs can see out all of the windows and it really does alleviate the nausea associated with motion sickness. This is one of the best purchases that I have made for my dogs.
