This trap works!
CaliDaveDecember 10, 2016
5 days after receiving this trap I had caught what now looks like a mole that was tearing up my yard. Not sure if there are more, but it's back in the ground in the event there is. Highly recommended if you believe you have a mole/gopher problem!

PS: I had the dry ice and water jug methods to no avail. The animal was almost black in color and had a short tail with some hair on it which is why I believe it was a mole and not a gopher. I didn't spend time making a close analysis of the upper region as it was hard to see at night.

It took a few tries to get a mole to fall for it but we've caught one so far. Have to reset once or twice a day because they will pack the trap with dirt and you have to dump it and reset.. But it works well - killed one so far!
It works good.

The Black Hole works well on North american chipmunks. I dug out their hole leading to their nest (under my settling concrete steps) and placed the set trap in place. I covered the gap between the trap and earth with dirt and then waited. Within two days I caught both chipmunks that were living under there. The device killed one, and only maimed the other. This is why I'm giving four stars instead of five. (I don't want anything to suffer)

If you have Voles or Moles, these will get them EVERY TIME. Just make sure it is set level, and I put some dirt in the bottom, shove it up so it seals the hole and then put dirt over all the visible holes (except the peep hole at the end, of course).
Woohoo

Moles have migrated to my lawn last few years and really started to go to town last few months. They must have multiplied and grown larger because the damage is much more noticeable. So I bought the poison worms and frankly I'm not sure those worked (used half a worm in 6-7 locations). I ordered this trap at the same time as the worms, just in case. I have a vague memory of using this trap many years ago and quite successfully. I planted it last night and wasn't really sure which direction to "point" it (there's only one opening for the mole to crawl into). Well, I guessed right! This morning I found a big (dead) mole in it. Woohoo! This trap works just like I remember. I have more moles and now feel like I have the right trap. Nice.

And by the way, I have earned many points from the wife, who was fretting about the lawn. Post script, I stomped down the hills and another mole hasn't pushed them back up, so I'm in good shape. I'm not sure how to repair the lawn though as there are little "valleys" all over where the dead mole lived. Youtube will tell me, I'm sure.
