Foam still has odd smell after several baking soda baths...much better than original. Still not sure if I will trust it with my cigars...I tested the humidifier today and after adding 6-7 drops of water to the attached device the humidity was very high!!! The seal must work well...after about 4 hours my RH was at 84%!! Yes, the device I used is calibrated correctly! Outside conditions were 67 degrees with 39% humidity. I think putting a mini bovinda packet would be very beneficial to keep the RH at a solid 69-72%...I will call the company again tomorrow see what they say...might just purchase my own if they will not provide a non smelling replacement!

I purchased this cigar case in order to protect my cigars when traveling...At first glance it appears well constructed, very durable. However, the first thing you will notice when opening the case is the horrible smell of chemicals as others have stated which is coming from the included foam. I tried to air it out and use distilled water to wash it but this did not work. I called quality imports to ask about this and the gentleman who answered the phone was more than aware of this smell. He recommended to put it in the dryer to really dry out the polyurethane used to produce this foam and advised me to let it air out for a week. Come on, REALLY? If this is a known problem why aren't you doing this at your manufacturing plant then before shipping??? Any who I did research online and I soaked them in tap water and poured a ton of baking soda on them and let it sit for hours, did both sides this way and sat outside to air dry...the smell is significantly better, but not completely gone yet. I will repeat this process again to try to cure the foam..I am not risking imparting this horrid smell onto my nice cuban cigars..I rate this three stars because of this foam issue, other than that I can see this case holding up nicely...I plan to test the humidifier with my hygrometer once I get these foam pieces squared away..The only reason I am keeping it at 3 starts is because I only paid $16 for this and the outside construction seems legit. If needed I could purchased and cut new foam to fit for just a couple bucks....

Seems well made and sturdy. I won't be using the humidifier disc but a cigar will be fine for a few days without it. Especially if it's sealed in. I haven't checked it for water proofness but I don't intend to be dunking it in water anyway. It'll just be something I can throw in my suitcase when I travel or take camping with me.
I do not intend to use this for cigar storage, I have a nice Spanish Cedar lined humidor for that. This is just gonna be for protecting my cigars when I travel.
It does hold 5 Churchills nicely.

Not particularly air-tight. Gaps are easily seen in corners.

Really nice case for transport and protection. Have given several for gifts, always well received.
