Excellent Except for One Thing

I bought this device because my doctor wanted me to keep a daily record of my blood pressure and this particular one got good reviews on Amazon. I've tried other BP monitors before but none gave results close to the BP measurements I got in my doctor's office (so I sent them back). I've tried this one for a couple of weeks and this is what I've found. The diastolic and pulse rate readings I get are pretty close to the readings I get in my doctor's office. However, the systolic readings for almost this entire period have been 20-30 points higher than I get in the doctor's office. Until today, when the systolic reading was only about 8 points higher than the usual reading in the doctor's office. It puzzles (and worries) me that two of the three readings from this device are spot on but the third one is way off. I'm not sure why. In any case, I'll try a couple more weeks of daily measures to see if this trend continues. Other than this outcome, this monitor is exactly what I was looking for. It's easy to use and gives me the three essential readings I need. If it were accurate on the systolic measurement, I'd give it 5 stars (a good value for the money)
Pros:
Easy to use
Fairly inexpepensive
No unnecessary bells and whistles
Excellent product for the price
Cons
Systolic readings are much higher than I get in my doctor's office

Good BP Monitor...For A Month!
Steven Daugherty✓ Verified Purchase•February 14, 2016
My wife purchased this monitor for me for Christmas; it seemed like a great/accurate monitor for about a month, then it began giving haywire BP readings. It would read WAY high, then WAY low for 3-4 readings, then it would finally give an accurate number. I called LifeSource; they told me to compare it's readings with a calibrated manual cuff. I have one here, but my wife (an RN with her masters) wasn't here at the time, so they told me to call back. We tried to test the unit, but by that time the only thing it would read was "ERROR" or begin pumping up & then start over again (an error, also). When I called back to tell them the results, LifeSource told me to pay to ship it back for a replacement (about $10, USPS Priority) with another $11 enclosed to pay the return shipping. I answered that I didn't have confidence in their products anymore & that the unit could be replaced for not much more money than the shipping would be both ways. I said I'd prefer to buy another brand & give their company a bad review on Amazon, if they wouldn't cover the shipping costs. They said that that was up to me, so I'm advising anyone who NEEDS an accurate, WORKING digital monitor to buy another brand & avoid A&D/LifeSource products - they are not worth the trouble & the company's "warranty" means very little.
Not in MY house!

Returned. Wouldn't show anything but "Cuff Err" with enclosed cuff, or LifeSource UA-279 (smaller) cuff. Customer service was as ignorant as a post. Returned. Bought something from the local drugstore, and tested it against the equipment in a hospital...it was cheaper, more reliable, and within two points of the readings on the nurse's equipment
very well pleased with it

I received the BP Monitor and Cuff and I a, very well pleased with it. I had tried locally to find one that I liked. I had
used a LifeSore for years and was thrilled when I found that I could attain from Amazon. Works beautifuly and the
cuff fits unlike the others that I tried.
