they worked a little better, but not much

I bought this kit to attempt turkish ebru (marbling paper). The problem isn't the color choices, it's these dyes themselves. These dyes DO NOT WORK. The dye is TOO THICK. I was using methocellulose to gel the water, and the minute I used these dyes they just sank to the bottom of the pan and didn't spread on the top of the water. When I added water to the dyes to thin them, they worked a little better, but not much. Will not be buying these again.

This is a great little kit, with good directions and nice colors. The process is a bit involved, so be ready for that. You don't have to practice much to get beautiful results. I recommend using with Japanese paper.

The ink is very nice but the methocel and alum that comes with the package is not nearly enough and is hardly enough for one marbling. I tried it on fabric and it was very ineffective. I was very disappointed.

I used this for my middle school art class and it worked fairly well. I did not get the effects that are pictured on the box but we still produced good prints. Some of the colors worked better than others (which is mentioned in the instructions). Overall, this is a great product but don't expect perfect results.
