So good I bought it twice
Amazon Customer•August 8, 2017
I bought this clock years ago and it served me well. Unfortunately, grubby paws, dust and the like eventually made the buttons stick and a pain to set the alarm. So I bought another one.
Very nice clock. Sync's with the atomic clocks (which broadcast on one of the FM channels) Time, date, day and temperature in the room. Lights up if you hit the snooze button but isn't lit up when you are trying to sleep. Nice, loud alarms (two of them can be set).
Runs on batteries. The last one ran for YEARS on the same batteries and I literally replaced the clock before having to replace the batteries. A major plus if you can't plug the clock in the wall.
Reasonably priced too.

The thermometer part doesn't work.

I thought I was going to love this because what I WANTED was a combination clock with the date and temperature and having the back light (which one has to press for) is just a bonus. I ordered this one because the TIME display is so large and I DO like that feature a lot. However, the temperature gauge or whatever on this device is NOT working properly at all. I have two other devices in my home that display indoor temperature so I brought them into the same room as I put THIS device and there is always at least a 5 to 6 degree difference from those (which are in agreement with each other) to this one! So clearly it is THIS one that is not accurate! Nonetheless, I have decided to keep it simply for the clock feature.
Not exactly what I expected

The clock was much bigger than I thought it would be (or wanted it to be). It's a fine clock and I would have given it more stars except for the size and one thing I consider a flaw. If you press a large button on the top of the clock, it lights up for 5 seconds so you can read it at night without having it lit at all times. However, in order to read it, you must tilt it toward you to see the numbers and letters. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but if not, this seems silly and annoying.
Perfect clock.

I have had one like this for several years. It is perfect. It keeps great time and adjusts itself for EST and DST automatically along with keeping perfect time set by the atomic clock run by NIST.
If you are looking for an always glowing clock this is not the clock for you. You have to press the button on top to light it up. Personally I like that and my wife likes that it doesn't light up the room at night unless you press it. She likes it so much that she took mine. Hence the reason I am purchasing a second unit, that will be MINE. She often gets restless and slips into a spare bedroom so as not to disturb me. Being battery operated it is grab and go. The blue light is not super bright so even when it is turned on in a dark room it is not jarringly bright.
It works literally years with the better lithium AA batteries from ever ready. I can't remember the last time I replaced them?
The alarm is not super loud (again what I prefer), easily set and turned on and off. It has a snooze function and basically just works. To me this is the Apple of alarm clocks. Super simple and does what I need. Nothing else.

ONE FANTASTIC ELEGANT ATOMIC CLOCK !

You can't go wrong with this atomic clock. The digits are super sized, and it is very easy to initially set. After that the clock does the rest. The classy look of its frame will make a man or a woman proud.
