I adore this alarm clock so much. Just about every night I remark how much I love my alarm clock. Seriously. I like a dark room when I sleep so much, and this alarm clock has given me the ability to have that and still see the time. The dimming option is amazing. Before I go to sleep, I just dim the read-out of the time to almost completely black, and in the dark, it barely shows leaving my room near dark, but it's *just* bright enough that I can see the time if I look at it. And in the day, I just turn it up so I can see it nice and bright. It. Is. Awesome! For anyone who likes a DARK ROOM at night, this is the alarm clock for you.
Also, there are some cool alarm sounds, including piano and birds chirping. I use the birds chirping and I absolutely love it. It's just so charming to wake up to that sound instead of the NNNNGGGGG of the blaring alarm. The sweet chirping of the birds is wonderful. You can adjust the volume also, but I haven't had to.
There are other features (24 or 12 hour time), but the above two are the main things that stick out that make me so in love with this alarm clock.

I swapped out my DVR and the new one did not come with a clock. We have a clock in the living room but it isn't back lit so you can't really see the time at night when all the lights are off. I never knew how often I check the clock until it was gone. This clock solved that problem.
We went from the tiny clock on the DVR to this clock with gigantic numbers lol. It sits in my cabinet where the DVR is and blends in seamlessly. The only reason you notice any equipment in my entertainment center is because of it's own lights. All my components are black so it's rather hidden unless you look closely or turn on the living room lights. The brightness adjustment allows you to find a good balance.
This clock has solved my problem and is even better than trying to squint to see the clock that was on the DVR. I don't even notice this clock unless I'm looking for the time. My TV sits on top of the cabinet and since the clock light is blue, I really never see it...it's not distracting.

I got this for the brightness dial, as my partner is very sensitive to light at night, and I'm really sensitive to not having a clock in view at all times. The brightness dial gets this thing incredibly dim--to the point that it's impossible to read in anything less than pitch black darkness, which is exactly what I wanted. I'm sure it gets bright enough for regular use, but that's not what I bought it for.
