"Please replace push button battery" robot voice waking us all up in the middle of the night
Jaime•March 9, 2018
We are usig this device as an extesion for the "THOMAS & BETTS RC3733D Plug with Added Chime Receiver". For a very long time we have been hearing a robot-like voice saying "please replace push button battery" in the middle of the night waking us all up. Since this product integrates with our existing doorbell and there are no batteries involved, we ruled it out and have been thinking that perhaps it was one of our children's battery toys ("the evil toy that wakes us up in the middle of the night"). Today I happened to be sleeping next to this product and it woke me up at around 4 a.m. confirming that it was the cause of the sound. What a terrible and evil design for a product that does not even have a push button! We are terribly disappointed with this product. And to add insult to injury, the product does not work as advertised. We have a standard wired ding-dong doorbell that came with our home. When people presses the push button very fast (which is most of the time), this product fails to send the signal to the receivers. Finally the volume set at the highest setting cannot be heard if people are talking in the living room where it's placed.
Sure didn't last long!,,

Bought this wireless add on door bell to go with the set i bought to use in the back of our home. The set came with an easy to use transmitter and reciever(plug into wall,no batteries). This is a plug and use additional bell unit. Popped it into the wall plug and it worked just fine.well at least 4or 5 times anyway. Noticed this past week the one on the back porch still working great, but this one does nothing anymore. Unplugged and reinserted the unit but still nothing.
Was expecting to get at least a year or so from it. Never thought it word last less than 30 days. Now I wonder when the other one is goi g to stop. Can not help but feel that I can not recommend this to anyone.
Well here is an update. Called the supplier to talk about the problem. The lady I talked with was very nice. She said she was sorry for the problem I am having with the product. She also said that they will send me a replacement for the defective unit. When I reciever the replacement I will update you again. I must admit that I am happy with the fact that my defective product is being replaced.

Works well. Installation was pretty easy although the sending unit is too big to fit inside the existing doorbell housing. Attached it to the top of my doorbell and it is nearly out of sight. Bought two receivers and now we can hear the doorbell ring from the back lanai 50' away and the man cave at 100' away.
Great product

This replaces one that I've had for a number of years. I really love being able to hear my doorbell if I am in the back yard or another part of the house, so I have several. Just plug it in and it works - you can't beat that. I do wish they'd stop changing the product number, it makes it hard to figure out if I am getting what I want.
Like the product, Hate how poorly it's made.

I have now purchased 3 of these doorbell extender units, and after only 10 months using the current unit, I need another one. Each extender unit lasts only a matter of months, and considering how simple and low-tech the electronics are, I can only assume this is planned obsolescence on the part of the manufacturer. Don't get me wrong, they do the job (while they're working), making it possible to hear my doorbell from anywhere in my home. I only wish they would last long enough to make them worthwhile to own.
