These worked perfectly for going to visit our new home that was under construction. We were required to wear them and these were inspected by our builder. He said they are OSHA safe. Excellent price for a short term construction hat. We will be using them for Halloween. Next year! Ha ha

Just received my MSA Safety Works 818066 hard hat (white). Thanks to the excellent video review submitted by Robert Bardwell I was able to assemble the ratchet suspension in the hard hat shell in short order. Being a retired firefighter, I know the importance of wearing head protection when doing things that might present a danger to your noggin. I am also familiar with the MSA brand from my work on the fire department. I bought this helmet because I have a lot of tree trimming to do around my property.

To address the size issue I would add that normally I purchase a size X/XL in my golf caps. I was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews saying the helmet was too small. It is true that under the brim the size is marked as "MEDIUM", but with the adjustable suspension system I was able to easily size the hat to my head for a comfortable, stable fit. There was also an adequate number of room left to ENLARGE the sizing if I would have needed to.

My overall opinion of this hat is that I was surprised by the quality for the money spent.

These hats do the job great. My son and I were going to do some fossil collecting at the base of a cliff and wanted to make sure we were protected. The instructions for installing the straps are not the best, but if you take your time and think about what you are doing, it all makes sense and they go together very easily. It took less than 5 minutes for me.

The fit is good and the ratchet system allows for a snug fit which keeps the hat in place. They do sit high on the head, but that's what they are designed to do...put some space between your skull and the objects hitting the top of the helmet.

Order processed and delivered quickly to use in time over weekend, which I appreciate. This is a well rated hard hat for a very good price. The interior harness snaps into place and adjusts easily to fit to head. Considering I've never used a hard hat before, this was a lot simpler to set up than several reviews suggested. The harness has 4 rectangles that snap into 4 niches inside the hat. They only snap in one way, so if it's not working, turn the whole harness over and try it. Sweat band goes where the brim is. The diagram shows 2 different harnesses. This one did not use a dial. The band is loosened by squeezing one area, and tightened by pinching another, and can be reached and done while wearing. Chose the white color for optimum coolness, and the hat overall is surprisingly cool. It seems to ride a little high, compared to other types of hats, but I think that is the protective space, and it does stay in place properly tightened when I tip my head back to look up. I chose this hard hat to use while pruning some tall shrubbery. It's way better to have some protection than wasting time in an ER with a bump or gash on the head. Get one!

Instructions said to use the know to adjust the size but there was no knob included.
