Decent trap, but back panel is more difficult to ...

Decent trap, but back panel is more difficult to open than what it should be for changing out food or releasing animal. Also, I had to bend the trap release hook just so it would line up with the hold. Kind of a shoddy construction. Otherwise, it's an OK trap for the price.
Caught a feral cat on my first attempt. Easy to use and easy to isolate the cat to put food and water inside the trap.

It was a little tricky to assemble but this is my first cat trap. Was able to trap feral cat quite easily. I set it out to catch another feral cat and ended up getting a raccoon that somehow was able to escape so this is for cats only.

Extremely satisfied with this trap. We are in a rural setting and I bought this to eliminate an out of control stray cat problem. The last two nights I baited the trap with an open can of wet cat food and had a trapped cat each of the next two mornings. I would have to agree there is room for improvement in the instructions/illustrations which might have reduced the initial setup time. I had to bend the trigger a bit (by hand with little force) as the trigger rod didn't quite reach but no biggie. The trap is quite easy to set and sturdy if properly assembled. No concern of the animals breaking out. Others complained about the pungent odor of the burlap cover. It wasn't that bad and, like several others suggested, letting it air out for a day or two nearly eliminated that.
Don't fall for this trap.

Trap is missing 2 parts: divider and door hook. The trap set mechanism doesn't work properly. I have had to modify it so it could work efficiently. Also, the quick release door is anything but quick. The overall design is flawed. Fortunately, I was able to modify it myself. I would not recommend this item.
Divider bars too widely spaced

This trap is pretty nice... strong spring and locking mechanism, and I didn't find it too difficult to put together. BUT! You need to know that the insertable separator you're supposed to use to hold the cat at one end of the cage while you provide food has bars that are too wide-set for a determined cat. If your cat is scared, the bars will act as a deterrent to keep it from trying to escape while you provide food, but I had one big strong tom that squeezed his head through the bars and then of course the rest of him quickly followed. At least I hadn't opened the back door yet, but It made it much more difficult to do a transfer through the front door. So you need to be very aware that it will not work for all cats! The trap itself is sturdy, plenty big, and the burlap is helpful to keep the cat calm when you don't have a spare blanket.
