1 was replaced for a bad solder joint in the first 5 years under warrenty
dan b•November 30, 2017
i bought 2 60 watt kits and 1 15 watt panel , for a total of 9 solar panels, 1 was replaced for a bad solder joint in the first 5 years under warrenty . they were easy to install and worked good for about 7 years . they were put on my cabin roof and never taken down only moved for seasonal sun . 7 and 8 years of use the corner have cracked in the abs frames and solder joints have came loose in 6 of the nine i bought and the 1 replaced under warrenty for a 7 out of 10 bad in a little less than 8 years . i have about $ 775.00 invested in these panels with only 3 still working , about $ 225.00 worth still working . my math shows i paid about $ 68.74 per year $ 5.78 per month to use these panels . gas was as much as $ 4.00 per gallion part of this time and as little as $ 2.OO a gallion part of the time . they did save enough money on gas to pay for their selfs but not as good as they could have if they had lasted longer . i am replacing them with panels that have a 25 year warrenty for alot less money . i had a total of 135 watts for about $ 775.00 dollars , i have bought a 160 watt panel for $ 160.00 dollars to replace the bad ones , that gives me 205 watts . i plan to add another 160 watt panel soon . invest wisely my friends the market has changed solar panels are get less expensive !

I went on an extended camping trip and this package, plus a deep cycle battery I bought separately at Walmart, kept all my devices charged and allowed me to have white string lights going at night for light and occasionally plugged in a lamp or computer speakers or other small things. I was in the desert of southern California so it was sunny all day everyday and I'm sure that helped.
happy here

I had to return the first set of these and the company did it so quickly... the second set .... it has took me a while to do this review.... but I can tell you I would buy again if I needed too. the panels collect so much power the battery (large boat battery) never dies. we use it to power our patio.... that's a stand fan, stereo, digital movie projector, computers, strings of lights(3) that boarder the yard, powered ice cooler and yard tools like the leaf blower or the string trimmer. we did get a stronger inverter and regulator but that was for more wattage and display screens.
Very Short lifespan on panels. Beware!

Purchased in 2009 and worked fine for the next 2-years. Then output dropped to nil. Several months ago 3 of the four panels were giving zero (0) output and the 4th 8.2 V intermittently but then would drop to 0.6 V (most of the time) under the exact same sun conditions. Testing was done at the individual output lines of each panel. The 4-panels are destined now for the junk yard. Most solar panels come with a 25-year power output warranty. These went out "completely" after 4 to 7-years.
I have contacted Amazon by email at their warranty email address to find out if the panels are covered under warranty replacement or refund. They have not responded as of yet. If the power output of the panels is not covered by warranty, then off to the junk yard they go.

Better than I expected

My goal was to be able to run a small fridge. I understood that the key was not in the panels, exactly, but in the battery storage. I began with one Sunforce 60 watt solar kit and four deep cycle UB12180 batteries. With that set up, I was able to run a small (12 inch) LCD TV with no problem for hours, a CB radio set up as a base station, and charge a number of rechargeable batteries, radios, AA, flash lights, ect. I then upgraded to eight UB12180 batteries and the one Sunforce four panel 60 watt kit was not able to keep up, but when I added a second Sunforce solar system, I was able to run a small fridge (3.2 Cu Feet) on about medium setting for 48 hours straight as well as charging all of the aforementioned batteries as well as a low watt light bulb. So, the key is in the batteries. Next, I will try batteries used in RVs which are larger. I may need to get one more set of the panels. We will see. Over all, they were fairly easy to set up, however, I would upgrade the controller and power inverter when buying this system.
