The perfect cord bundle!

The number of times which I have found myself using an extension cord which was one foot too short or many feet too long is too great to count.

In this regard I was thrilled to find such a reasonable price for a pack of 1' cords with grounding pins.

I have used several of these in conjunction with kill-a-watt energy use meters and they are the perfect accessory. In a server room I am now able to add a kill-a-watt to a single piece of equipment and plug it into a power strip without covering extra spaces on the strip.

The cables themselves are of heavy duty construction and have very solid connections. There is nothing cheap feeling about them. The cable itself seems to be made from heavy gauge wire which is common to
I cannot recommend these enough. Once you have them, you will wonder how you eve managed to get by without a surplus of 1' extension cords! These are the sort of convenience that you never knew you needed, and are perfect because they are so unobtrusive.

The only heads up I would give you is this. If you plan to use these behind a piece of solid furniture such as a desk, you will have to give them a solid 2" gap between the socket and the desk. The heavy duty nature of the cord does not lend well to bending sharply at the neck of the plug.

Easily earns the five stars!
Works! Slightly pricey.

Not only good for attaching multiple big boxy transformers to a power strip, but can also use for hard to get at outlets. For instance, I have a wall outlet that is right alongside my bed, in sort of a bed against wall situation. Using this, I can now access the outlet better, for instance, I can leave the free female end on top of my bed and use it easily to charge my ipod.

Even under your computer desk, if you have a power strip that you have to reach down to plug and unplug devices often, attach a couple of these permanently, and just reach down from your chair, grab the free head end as if you were grabbing a snake's head, and pull it up and put your device on it and drop it back down to the floor.

I will admit, power strips are quite inexpensive for basic surge protection models, and if that is all you need, then for $11 you can buy that and have more receptacles for your boxy transformers. All in how you approach it for your unique situation.

Enjoy!

Have purchased multiple sets of these short extension cords. Primarily used with surge protectors for electronics where the outlet spacing is too close for equipment plugs.

MY, MY What a Fantastic & Simple way to solve an ongoing electrical extension cord dilemma! When we purchase those multiple outlet extension cords a lot of times the equipment we plug into the extension cord are quite big. When they are too big plug takes up, unfortunately, more room & BLOCKS the free outlet from being used because of the overhang from the too large plug. These NIFTY, 1 foot, grounded extension plugs are perfect for alleviating the overhang problem & give the extra room needed to take advantage of using the entire extension cords outlets. What a PROBLEM & USEFUL SOLVER!! Yes this is an excellent product being sold by this company through Amazon. I & I'm quite sure most people have not seen this nifty product sold in stores. We recommend buying this well made product as it also is made quite well & will hold up to most of your electrical needs. It is quite durable & has a high electrical wattage rating.
Correct item showed up. Pretty basic, but it's what it supposed to be.

My items arrived yesterday, so I cannot speak in depth about durability, but it is just a very short grounded extension cord. What moving parts are there to wear out?

Let's just get down to business here. The reason I am even bothering posting a review here of extension cords is in response to those that say they got ones with say PC type ends. I wanted readers to know, at least in my case, they shipped 2 boxes of 5 each, and every single one of my cords has a standard US 15 amp grounded male and female ends. The item description is a bit confusing though. It says 12" which I assumed was overall length. That is incorrect. The cable length between the ends on mine is 12", the ends themselves add another approximately 3".

I plan on using these with a rack mounted PDU to allow me to plug in the fat "wall wart" type of transformers for some small switches, a router, cable modem, and NAS disk for my training lab. The length of these is ideal for that function.

In testing, the few that I have taken out of the box and connected seem to work fine.

They solve a stupid problem of lazy industrial design for computer network items. A pity I need them. If network gear designers would just integrate the power supplies to their devices, none of this would be neccesary...
