strong vibration

This is a bit too large to fit in the pocket of PJs (one reason I took off a star). Could clip it to the waistband or neck.
Also, the vibration is constant (the other reason it lost a star). I think an intermittent vibration is more effective.
That being said, this is pretty effective. It is a strong vibration, quite annoying.
I clip it to my pillowcase & put it under the pillow, set the time to the latest I'll let myself get up. Usually I'm up before this starts its antics because I dislike it so much.
The beeping isn't loud, but will wake most people.

Horrible! Unless you like being late...

If I could give this zero stars I would do it in an instant. The alarm clock worked so inconsistently that by my 3rd day of being late to work, I returned it. I had the alarm for 5 days. 3 of those 5 days I woke late due to its failure to go off as programmed. 2 out of 5 days is a terrible record for an alarm product. Save the money and time and find a product that actually works.
An undependable alarm is not useful as an alarm clock.

I purchased my first one last summer for a trip. If it worked as it should, it would be great. The alarms (buzz and/or vibrator) worked erratically (though the clock keeps accurate time), but what good is an alarm clock if you can't depend on it. The company didn't even want it back when I contacted it; they just sent me a new one. That one worked ok initially, but the last 2 times I used it (I take it on vacations and like the vibrator alarm so as not to awake a late-sleeping companion), the alarm didn't go off as set. I am really disappointed as a hearing-impaired friend has had the same alarm for about 5 years and it works dependably, awakening him with the vibrator since he can't hear most alarm clocks..
Never replace the batteries with high-power types such as lithium, alkaline or those meant for heavy current drawing devices.

This alarm clock is built with high quality plastic. The feel is solid and not flimsy like those cheap plastic clocks.
Vibration is very strong and comes with "special batteries" to ensure a long working lifespan.
Some users complained the clock had a short lifespan. The reason is as follows :
The LCD clock's electronic circuitry is very sensitive to strong electric current. The "special batteries" are actually low-power zinc-carbon batteries that provide very low output current. So if you were to replace them with High-power batteries such as Lithium, Alkaline or heavy-duty types meant for high-drain devices, then your clock will definitely "burn out" in a very short time.
Hope the above tip helps.
After-note : As the 2 AA batteries drive the vibrator, you may use Alkaline batteries but only use zinc-carbon battery for the AAA battery which drives the clock circuitry.

Independent once again!

I bought this for my 83 year old Mother who has profound hearing loss and cannot hear without her hearing aides. She absolutely loves this vibrating alarm clock. She places it under her pillow and says it is a gentle awakening, it doesn't 'frighten' her awake. It has never failed and she feels like she has gained her independence back by being able to wake herself up when needed rather than relying on a neighbor or REALLY loud alarm noises or music.
She has recommended this clock to several friends - love, love, love it!
