Very pleased with the purchase! Very useful tool to have in the car. I have older parents and a husband who needs some help getting out of the car. A few years ago I had purchased a competitors assist bars but returned it as the handle was light weight -plastic, it did not appear that it would hold up. After reading the reviews on the Stander HandyBar with the added seatbelt cutter (located in the white area on the HandyBar), and the metal tip that acts as a window breaker I thought I would take another try. This unit is worth the added cost! The handle is very sturdy and solid. There is a coating that helps with the grip too. It states the weight capacity for the handle is 350 lbs. I have an Acura TL 2007- it works best for us with the handle facing outward (the same direction as the open car door). This keeps the unit out of the way when getting out of the car and they are able to also use the car door as a stabilizer for the other hand.
Helps my family member get in and out of the car with greater ease...

I bought this for my mother in law after she broke her femur (she's 83) at the recommendation of a relative who used this while recovering. She uses it every time she travels by car. It helps her to steady herself getting out of the vehicle. It's a wonderful product as it allows her to maintain her upper body strength and allows one person to assist her.
Worth the money.

This is a great assist for mobility challenged people like my mother. The quality is impressive. Sturdy metal and easy to grip surface. Even without the seat belt cutter and window breaker frill, it is a device to purchase. I don't mind paying for quality and peace of mind that this won't break in use.

Read the reviews and picked this Handy Bar from all the rest. My husband is disabled from an auto accident and I have great difficulty getting him in the car. He has been going to therapy for two years now and wants to get into the car HIS way which is difficult and dangerous for me. Since receiving the bar he has gradually changed some but I have a Toyota Camry and the bar fits if the handle is pointed to the outside but will dot do so to the inside. It is very unstable if it is in between. The bar is strong and I hope he will eventually use it more. The only drawback is it only being stable and secure in the one position.
I can always it on my side of the car to help me get out. Maybe I will get another.

This is a great addition to the car for my wife who has difficulty getting in and out of our car. She now has a handle that she can put her full weight on to help her sit down or use her full strength to help her stand! With the added comfort of having a seat belt cutter and window breaker on her side of the car!
