Basic yoyo, but it doesn't have a big enough ...
Michael R Niklas•September 7, 2017
Basic yoyo, but it doesn't have a big enough loop at the end to be able to idle for "walk the dog" etc. I'll need to cut the string and retie it somehow or use different string.
NOTE: assorted colors

Great yo-yo except assorted colors. Ordered for my son which OF course means out of all the gender neutral colors they can send, they send us a pink one.

This is the same Imperial everyone knows-no surprises there. The string is wearing thin in about 2 weeks of daily use. If you plan on buying it for a young yo-yo lover (like I did), I suggest you buy extra string. I am giving this 3 stars instead of 5 because you can't choose color & it costs 1.50 more than our local hobby store (which I did not know at time of purchase). It arrived pink. Luckily, this was purchased for a girl (who doesn't like pink, btw). If this was purchased for my son (or other male relative) I would have been very disappointed.
If you are getting this for a gift, consider buying two & keeping the other as an extra stocking stuff or emergency gift...in case you get an inferior color.

Cheap.

I just received this today and the string is already tangled and now not yo-yoing up. It's been less than any hour... my son is bummed.
Still a classic

Some childhood favorites just don't live up to our memories of them, but thankfully, the Duncan yo-yo isn't one of them. We bought two yo-yos, one for each of our two kids (ages 11 and 8), but all of us in the family have been having a great time playing and learning new tricks. Cheap yo-yos are just frustrating. They don't snap back crisply, and they don't lend themselves to tricks. The classic Duncan size and shape is just right for smaller hands, and even newbies can successfully grasp the basics quickly. Within a day, our daughters were able to do the basic yo-yo throw and were well on their ways to getting their yo-yos to sleep. Worth every penny.
