Fits and works.

It's a splash guard, and it fits. Not much else to say. The rubber is a bit stiff, which means it can be slow to drain with just a little bit of junk in it, but not to the point of being a problem, and I expect it will limber up some over time. A huge improvement over the gross, ill-fitting on we had.
The outer diameter fits my Waste King disposal perfectly

Something is wrong here. The outer diameter fits my Waste King disposal perfectly. However, the flaps must not be cut right or else the material is too stiff, because water is constantly building up with the slightest amount of debris landing on it. I might have to take some scissors and modify it. I'm home all day, and I cook healthy food, which means we do a lot of dishes, and I'm annoyed by constantly "fixing" the drain.
Avoid this

This splash guard is too large for the throat of my Waste King 3300 disposer. I can force the guard in, but only by using both hands. And the opening in the center of it is too small. Water backs up in the sink, and vegetable waste has to be manually pushed through the guard, it doesn't just wash through. The sink stopper doesn't fit into it, probably because the splash guard is so compressed. In short, this is nothing at all like the original splash guard.

I can say one positive thing. Because it tightly blocks the throat of the disposer, it muffles the sound, and the disposer is noticeably quieter.
I was hoping to eliminate ground up sterling silver dinnerware in my Waste King 8000 disposer

Bought this item along with the Danco 1051 disposal genie. I was hoping to eliminate ground up sterling silver dinnerware in my Waste King 8000 disposer. I'm am happy to report I was successful. The stopper is a new design for the original. It has no perimeter gasket or seal. The stopper and splash guard seem to work because of precision flat surfaces. I dropped the stopper in the opening against the splash guard and put 6" of water in the sink. Came back 10 minutes later and the water was still there. All I need to know. The Danco 1051 is a fine piece of engineering. One little caveat is that it take a minor bit of alteration to fit the WK 8000. The diameter of the Danco must be ground to 3.0". Accomplished with a small orbital hand sander and 80 grit sand paper. Took about 15 minutes. Take your time and sand all tips uniformly to the same 3.0" diameter. You can do it by hand but the plastic is very tough. Contrary to other comments I found no problem using the Danco in conjunction with the WK splash guard. Maybe a new WK design but the combination worked perfectly. By the way at 3.0" the Danco works with or without the WK splash guard in the 8000.
Eh - maybe.

I cook. A LOT. So we have a lot of scraps that go down the garbage disposal. Our old one was falling apart, so needed a newer splash guard. This one fits okay, however, being new, I constantly have to push food through it. I guess since it's new, you have to push it harder than I used to have to push my food down. I guess that means it will last longer, but I find myself taking it out so I can fit more food faster into my disposal. It's likely just preference, but I'm kind of annoyed :) It does serve it's purpose and stops the food from being thrown out at me - so that is a plus.
