When You Need a Little More Support
KaysGramma✓ Verified Purchase•June 12, 2018
I have a bad back and finding the proper chair is always a challenge for me. I purchased this when I was working at an office that didn't provide very good chairs. This back support provided the additional support I needed so I didn't leave the office is extraordinary pain. I no longer work at that office, but I still use this at home. I have a large dining room table with oversized upholstered chairs. This lumbar support adds the support I need and allows me to sit up straight when eating meals. I've also used in a recliner while watching TV. Anytime I feel I need a little more support, I reach for this lumbar back support. Its the best support I've found at this price point. After approx 6 months of regular use, its still in good shape too. No rips, tears or snags and the padding hasn't flattened too much.
A Product That Really Works for Me

This lower back lumbar support cushion has been a real back saver for me. I use it every day in both the personal vehicle and the work truck. It makes a huge difference on long drives. I have had this for about three years now and it still looks and feels new. Not expensive, durable, and comfortable. Keeps my lower spine in the correct position. I am quite uncomfortable on the days that I forget to transfer it from one vehicle to the next. I should mention that I do not use the elastic strap and I believe it would fail quickly if I did. Although it may slide around a bit and some more expensive alternatives may not; for my money this is the right combination of effectiveness, durability and price.
Update 07/09/2017: I purchased in Nov 2014 and it has been used almost everyday since. It is finally showing some signs of wear at the bottom of the cover (2 small holes) still impressed given the low cost.

... doing my research about what kinds of cushions are best for sciatica/herniated discs
ChristaG✓ Verified Purchase•March 22, 2017
after doing my research about what kinds of cushions are best for sciatica/herniated discs. i settled on this one. mainly because i was worried about buying a foam cushion and it being too squishy. with my condition, you need a firm support, and often, cheap memory foam gives too much and wears in. This has kept its firmness and i like the width too. its not too wide or too small, fits great in my car and my office chair. Good shape and good support, especially for the price. BUT i took off a star because of a major design flaw. the strap on the back is elastic, and comes already pretty loose. It didnt have a chance on my office chair and slipped down immediately. now every time i sit i have to adjust it and the pressure of my back keeps it in place. i will have to buy another pillow now to replace it.
Bought For The Memory Foam Only.

I bought this because of the contoured shape of the memory foam for shoulder blade support in my kayak. Very comfortable! Now I just have to figure out some kind of a waterproof cover. I actually dropped it into Lake Hickory a few hours ago. Held up just fine but I might not get away with that for very long.
One day, someone will make a kayak seat made with memory foam. I will be the first in line. Until that day, the back support from this chunk of memory foam is Really Really REALLY NICE and Oh So Comfortable. I don't believe the manufacturer intended this to be used in a kayak --but look at how well it fits in my Dagger Zydeco!

I find myself sitting up strait and my back doesn't ache!

I ordered this back rest along with an orthopedic seat cushion after I a hiking accident that caused a knee injury and triggered sciatic nerve pain. I'm very happy with my purchase. The back rest comes with an elastic strap attached to the back that hooks over your chair and holds it in place. It took a few times of adjusting to find the perfect spot for my back. With the combination of the Coccyx seat cushion and this back cushion, I now have a lot of relief from sciatic nerve pain. I was hoping it would provide some sciatic nerve pain relief but it has done much more then that. I have a tendency to slouch forward over the keyboard since my office chair has no lumbar support. I noticed immediately that it changed my posture. I now find I sit straight up with my back pushed up against the support and it feels wonderful. I no longer get the ache in my back as I did before. I have decided that once my knee is healed and my sciatica eases up I will still use this every day. It's now a permanent fixture on my chair. I will be purchasing another one to set in my recliner too!
