I purchased the Produce 805B Beech Wood cheese cutter to use with my Cold Process Soaps. Works perfectly with my soaps. I am able to make a mark with pen or pencil to mark the desired size of cut. The soap loaf will slide side to side as you cut so you need to hold it tight and steady while cutting. Easy clean.

The cheese board is fine for most cheeses although harder cheeses must sit out before being cut on this board. This cheese board is not as sturdy as others I have used and although we only hand wash it with a wash cloth, the butcher block has quickly become discoloured.
It would make a nice wedding gift for someone you don't know very well and will never see again. I'm not one for returning utility items that work well so I'm keeping it.

I bought this to cut my homemade soaps. The board has a smooth finish and is easy to wash. The wire is good for cutting soap so there should be no problems with cutting cheeses

Because another soaper said this was the way to go I bought this item. OMG she was right Perfect for soap. Now, i did have to align the slicing arm because as someone indicated in the questions the wire was not in align with the slot. EASY fix, grab the metal arm and pull or push in the direction you need to move it. I taped out my slicer, however, I found that the larger loaves like to wiggle around when slicing. I am going to have to add a soap rest where my tape line is on the body of my slicer. I also suggest that if cutting soap, that you run a cloth over the wire between slices for a cleaner cut each and every time. I think this is an affordable soap cutting option, and I am pleased with this purchase, and I am pleased with the results. I have cut 2 loaves with this cutter so far, and next to my metal beakers this is like the best purchase ever, totally revolutionized my soap making process.
