I have had several of these cheese slicers over the years. They are the best for thin slicing block cheeses. I've used other brands and they just don't do the job. Durable and inexpensive.

Purchased to replace a similar cheese slicer for my mom. She loves it and is a perfect replacement for her old one from the 80's! She also has a more modern slicer of similar design that has a rubber OXO-type rubber handle that is outperformed by the Bjorklund slicer in just about every way (except being dishwasher safe).
Pros: -Lightweight yet sturdy
-Comes nice and sharp and ready to use
-Handle attachment looks strong and has held up well so far after dozens of washes

Even though you probably shouldn't toss tools with wooden handles in the dishwasher, I've washed this cheese slicer in the dishwasher over a hundred times and have had no issues at all.
Everybody should own a cheese slicer, it's a necessity just like the paperclip.
