They are reasonably easy to grind and leave a nice finish on spindles

These are a solid set of tools. They are reasonably easy to grind and leave a nice finish on spindles. I have not tried them internally yet.Tehy hold an edge as well as any others that I have.
If you try to use them as a skew they do have less risk of catching but it is hard to hold the angle to git a good sheering cut

I thought this would be grate but after using them they seem mostly pointless. If you try to use them as a skew they do have less risk of catching but it is hard to hold the angle to git a good sheering cut and they dull extremely fast. Compared to a gouge there is not much difference as far as ease of use but they can be a slightly smother cut if you are new to turning. The fact they are a pain to sharpen and don't hold an edge well makes them worthless. I strongly recommend both new and experienced turners to invest in a good skew and gouge and then practice to improve technique and skill.

This is my second set of Versa Tools. I have EWT's and I love them but they are expensive so I like to have my less expensive tools to use more often. These are my go-to tools for turning. Sure, you need to sharpen more often but still I love them for the versatility (thus, the name versa) and they work for so many turning jobs.
