Not what expected.

Ordered for my mom to be able to transfer small pictures to the wall to make patterns for larger items. After installing the bulb and placing on a table aiming close to a wall with paper taped on it; the picture was blurry at best. We tried moving the item closer (about 2 Feet) to the wall which alleviated the blurriness, however the picture was then almost the same size as the one we were trying to enlarge. The room had to be completely dark for a decent picture, and when I pulled the table that was holding the Tracer Projector back to enlarge it distorts badly.
Not sure how they got the pictures they did to put up but definitely not the same quality as shown.
Would not recommend purchase of this unless you are trying to trace on a wall to the same size (maybe a slight bit larger) than the original.

OK at 3X magnification minimum and in a Dark Room.

It only works in a dark room, and with at least 2 ft between the projector lens and the wall. The magnification at 2 ft is 3X.
At 12 inches it is blurry and out of focus.
Since I don't plan to build a darkroom or limit my use to late at night, I returned it. Instead I am going to try using a regular projector
which also avoids having to print color prints before use.

Works well except for the strategic positioning and securing of associated media. I don't recommend this for the serious artist, but it works good enough for my needs. I added weights to the unit since just the weight of the power cord can move it and repositioning the image on media if difficult at best.

I was considering doing a mural on one wall of my art studio and wanted to do a blown-up version of a painting I had seen in a book. Most of the projectors I looked into were hundreds of dollars and it didn't seem worth making the investment; I found this one here on Amazon and was very impressed with the reviews. I ordered it and it came ahead of estimated schedule, and it was simple and easy to use. I ended up not doing the mural but am going to use this for other projects!!!!

This projector works great for what I need. I've taken 5" x 5" prints and project them onto our wood shed up north to a height of 5 1/2 feet. At that size the detail is a little lost but I've had no problem with the outcome of my paintings from it. Wish I could post pictures. Only down side is that you need complete darkness to trace your project clearly but for this price I don't care!
