It works well so far. The wind whipping around makes the pole twist and slide down from time to time. It should have a "lock in" spot but it doesn't. It may not hold up over time, but the mounting post (sold separately) is very sturdy, so another pole would also work.

Easy to extend. Secure fastener for flag grommets. We've used it multiple times on the blustery Oregon coast. It stayed extended and is holding up great. We only used one flag so far. Very happy.
