Finally, artichokes evenly cooked

I'm very happy with this product. Originally I used an asparagus steamer to steam my artichokes, but as you can imagine since they were stacked vertically they never cooked evenly. And as long as artichokes take, that created a problem. Using 2 of these in a large stock pot was not only much easier, but I found it easier to check how done the artichokes were. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

I have a pasta steamer with two inserts (one for pasta, the other for veggies). When I take both inserts out, this little gem sits in the bottom. You should cut one to two inches off the stem. This allows the artichoke to sit on the holder and provides enough space underneath for a sufficient amount of water. I also can put the steamer lid on. Perfect!

For years, I only had 2 of these great artichoke holders. Now I have a set of 6. This allows me to steam 4 to 6 of them at the same time. Just make sure that the pot is large enough for the holders and the artichokes, especially if they are stuffed.
