I purchased this originally in 2012 for my sidelights. I didn't like the fact that anyone slowly driving through my subdivision could see all the way to the opposite end of my house. I hung curtains for a couple of years but hated how dark it made the hallway. These were an ideal solution. Good looks and permanent. They installed easily and over the past 4 years have never given me a bit of trouble. No peeling, no bubbling. I live in Michigan and get some rather harsh winters. The winter of 2014-15 was particularly cold. My door is west facing and gets full sun so during the summer, the windows get extremely hot. This product has been fantastic in both extremes.
I am purchasing these again to put on glass doors of a curio cabinet. I want the cabinet for storage and not display. Using this product will achieve that role and tie the look of the front door with the curio cabinet. Even though they are different areas, the colors are the same and the look will be uniform throughout my space.

Putting it on wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, the hardest part is cutting the right size, the rest is fairly easy to do. Make sure you get everything off the window before applying it on or it will leave a bubble.

After bravely attempting lining my china cabinet doors with real rice paper (and failing), window film felt like a necessary compromise. It was, however, surprisingly easy to install and is much more textured and subtle than the rice paper I had used. It is exactly the semi-opaque, natural coverage I was looking for--a film of fibers once installed.
Artscape includes easy-to-follow directions: clean glass, measure and cut film, wet glass with soapy water, apply film, squeegee gently 'til dry. The film is easy to work with and you have some time before it dries to adjust it on your window and squeegee out air bubbles. Aside from water dripping from the wet windows, the mess is minimal.
I had really psyched myself out about the difficulty of this install, but finished the whole process in 15-20 minutes.
The film is working beautifully for my china cabinet doors, but other reviews speak to how the film holds up on exterior doors.

It was a little difficult to cut accurately however unless you are looking up close it really does not show if you cut a little short. I have extreme sunshine coming through my door so I put this on both sides of the window to really minimize and I am happy with it! I would recommend this item!
