While it worked, this was a great kettle. The glass is clear so you can see the water level and also, it has a nice loud whistle. Only 3 months after receiving it, though, it cracked and broke at the neck. I don't know how it happened. It had just started to boil, so it wasn't very hot for long. It wasn't abused. I either hand washed or put it on the top rack of the dishwasher. Overall, it's disappointing that it didn't last longer.

Itʻs ok, however the cap/lid is a real difficult item to get back on after it has been removed. I left it off because it would not go back on - really not a major issue for me as the whistling thing wasnʻt my goal. The opening itself is tight, but it can go in the dishwasher. For handwashing a tool with a handle will be neded by most - I have small hands and it isnʻt conducive to sticking hands inside.
It does the job, heats water in a glass container. Goal met.

Does the job although the whistle is completely inaudible from another room. I've been using it daily for a couple months without a problem. If you keep the handles away from the burner they won't melt. My only issue is that the trivet rusts quickly. But I should be able to make another one if I can find the right wire. We have very hard water and I like being able to see when the kettle needs cleaning.

Love this! Use it on an electric coil burner with the wire provided. Have filled it to the top as well as only scant amounts in the bottom. Love the glass. Very easy to keep clean. I don't firmly seat the lid because I'm always in the kitchen when heating water. I just set the lid on top of the opening. Using it this way does not allow for a "whistle" to occur, which is fine because I can see when it is boiling or is as hot as I'd like. So much better than the electric kettle that this replaced. The glass kettle is so much healthier.

I just love the look of this teapot! I purchased this item for our beach house where we don't have an insta-hot so I always leave a teapot on the stove and this looks nice and cozy/fresh, perfect for the beach! I am worried about the glass, I'm a little clumsy and I hope I don't break it. The whistling top has to be removed to pour the water which was really my only surprise. The whistle is not a particularly loud or shrill whistle but it lets you know it's ready. The instructions for use are printed on the outside of the pot and are visible when held in your right hand. There are several instructions, and because we rent out our home and guests do not always use care with our property, this will be going in our closet and the tin one will be on the stove for guests. There is a minimum fill line and a caution to use the metal ring if used on electric coil stove. I can't notice a difference in taste when I use it in my french press but I try to use glass wherever I can.
