My son had one of these years ago and loved it. So I was excited to see that I could still purchase them for my grandsons. They love it. I love the convenience of it. Open it up. set it up (which is very quick and easy) and they play for hours. When they are done all the pieces fit neatly inside and the fire truck can just be neatly set aside. Love love love it!!!
is also enjoyed the fun with his older brother

This is the second one of these that I have purchased. The first one was played with so much by my oldest grandson (now six) that it needed replaced. Now, my youngest grandson (3 years old), is also enjoyed the fun with his older brother. This is one of those toys that I will put up for several months and when I bring it out again both boys are very excited to see it.
Meets 4 1/2 year old's expectations

My 4 1/2 year old son asked for this toy out of a catalog for several months. Despite the bad reviews, we purchased it for him. He absolutely loves it. Yes, there are pieces that need to be put together every time and pieces that fall apart. Yes, it is a little difficult to transform back into a fire truck, and all the pieces do not easily fit back inside the truck. And yes, some of the moving pieces (like the elevator and the upside-down loop) do not always work right. However, my son is learning how to put the pieces together himself, and he really enjoys driving the five little die-cast vehicles all around. He thinks it is a great toy and is very happy with it. I would not recommend this toy for a younger child, who would be likely to get frustrated if parts fall off or do not work as expected. I think it can be a fun toy for a child who is 4 or older and enjoys engineering things and pretending.
