Soft ring that installed easily

Very flexible thick transparent vinyl-like material. Didn't notice any PVC smell. Did not have to put in boiling water to install as some have suggested. It went easily into a 2" hole in a tempered glass table top. I like that the protection of the glass is continuous and not a series of evenly-spaced clip-like "tabs" that seem to start breaking after a year or less.

I purchased this time for a table I purchased earlier this year. The "umbrella hardware" is great. HOWEVER getting to it is NOT. I initially thought I had been sent the wrong part. After rereading the reviews I understand the 2 ;pieces must be PRIED APART. Yes, they do not come apart easily which is good for the preservation of the table.... not so good for humans ( I was actually beginning to think it had been glued together). Outside of that... fits perfect; thankful for such a great price and quick delivery!

Do not be fooled! Umbrella holes are not all created equal. This happens to be a little small for the hole in my table so I wound up winding some string in the groove to hold it in place. Working reasonably well. I like the cap that fits in when you have no umbrella over the table

The ring is a little too big for the hole in the table. I can't believe these don't have a standard size for all patio tables. If that isn't possible due to whether the table top is glass or another material, they should have two standard sizes. One for glass table tops and one for other table tops. Perfect! Just had to detach the silicone ring from the plastic insert. That was easily done by holding inner plastic ring with thumb & fingers grip & "peeling" the silicone ring by pulling down little by little until you've gone around the entire ring. Came of perfectly, fit like it was factory made for table. So glad I found this, so if there's ever a next time that my boys misplace that ring when taking down the umbrella. I won't panic, great buy!
