I installed these on cabinets constructed from 3/4 inch thick lumber (total 1.5 inch) and these locks worked perfectly.
I recommend use of a 7/8 inch forstner bit to drill the holes in the doors. I also recommend that you construct a drilling fixture out of a 1-by or 2-by board. Drill a hole in the board at the exact distance from the edge as the distance from the edge of the cabinet door to the lock. Pencil in a line on the edge of the board to mark the center of the hole. You can then clamp the board to the edge of the door and use the pre-drilled hole to line your bit up perfectly everytime and drill a perfectly square hole. Be sure to clamp a backer board on the back side of the door to prevent tear-out.
