Very pleased for the price. I installed it in a window in a half basement. Built some stairs up to the window and now our little yorkie comes and goes into the backyard as she pleases without having to wait to be let out thru an upstairs door.

A few complaints from reviewers have been that it doesn't close and needs a stronger magnet. After some adjustments I can get about an 90 % closure rate. I took a star off for that.

Another complaint it that the cover is to easy to remove and it can be removed by animals. Not sure if those peoples covers are defective but the one we have the cover is much harder to remove than snap on. No way can a small animal that doesn't have an opposing thumb remove the cover if it is snapped into place correctly.

Be sure and measure your pet for correct size. Our Yorkie weighs 5.5 lbs. We got a small and if the door was any smaller she would not get through. The chart claims small is good for up to a 15 pound dog. I find that hard to believe unless it is one long/thin wiener dog.

Size is good for an extra large dog. Says it will accommodate dogs up to 200 pounds and our lab is about 90 so plenty of room. That's about all the good I have to say about this Pet door. It's not very sturdy and once installed we saw several gaps that would allow water to seep in. It was necessary to silicone all round the outside of the door to keep any rainwater out. Worst part, the cover is totally useless. It doesn't stay attached to the frame and even a small push by our lab and he's in. We've even tried taping the cover on to add support and it's useless. We needed the cover to attach to the inside to deter intruders when we're gone but if he can push it open anyone could. Problem now is we have an extremely large hole in our door so, if we replace it with a different model we'll most likely have to replace the whole door.

We bought this to use on my daughter's bedroom door so the cats and dog can enter and exit her room at will during the night and in the morning. Pets range in size from 6 lbs to 30 lbs.
It was easy to install and doesn't look terrible on an interior door. The magnetic closure made a lot of noise though when the pets went in and out so we removed the bottom magnet. The plastic cover to prevent the pets from going out doesn't fit very well. The little cat was able to pry it off with little effort. Luckily, we don't really need to keep them in the room so it's not a big issue for us.

Using it now - mounted it up and had it going for 2 months now. Not bad - the magnetic flap doesn't always "lock" back into place and with the temp hitting the low 20's and Teens I can feel the air moving around and through it pretty good. Installation was easy, instructions (if needed) clear and overall not bad. The screws that bind the two halves together are plastic so be careful not to over torque or you'll break them. I really wish the flap would have been made out of clear plastic....nobody, and especially cats, likes to shove their head through a hole without being able to see what's on the other side...seriously?

I liked everything about this door EXCEPT the plastic screws. Excellent instructions, installation went well but the screws were too easy to strip. They are so long you've got to use an electric screw driver but you've got to go slow when you get close to tightening the frame. I would have replaced them had I lived closer to a hardware store. My cats learned how to use it in no time... my dog is not quite as sharp and took him several days. All is good and is in regular use now. I would recommend this door over others that use a hard plastic door.
