Not as good as the 10 hole Swan
almacSeptember 14, 2017
Nice looking harmonica pkg and case, but finding it hard to get notes from 2 upper holes- upper C through F. I'm experienced with diatonic harp and I know high notes can be difficult, but this seems more so. I have a Swan 10 hole Chromatic that cost only $25.89. The Swan sounds better, and since the upper 11 and 12 holes of the Suziki are useless to me I returned the Suziki.
Look out Hohner!

I haven't tried the SCX-64,..but, within its range, the 48 beats the crap out of my Hohner 48s, my Hohner 64 Chromonica and my venerable Hohner 2016! Outside of a little problem I'm having with SCX's top note ( rather shrill),..This is the one I plan to play just about All of the time...The SCX is Both more Powerful AND Sweeter,..which is one Hell of an accomplishment! (The Hohner 64 is a bit too bright and the 2016 is rather "nasal'....)

What sweetened the deal for me is that I bought it here, in Very good condition, used, for 66 Bucks!

Hohner: Watch your A-Bone...
I'm quite pleased by the quality of this harmonica!

I own a good number of harmonicas in various keys, but I only own two Chromatics, This one and a Hohner. The Hohner is a weighty piece, same 12 hole and sounds very good. This one is also substantial feeling and surprisingly a bit easier to get sound from. When I unpacked and warmed the harmonica in my hands then tried to play I could hear the windsavers clicking which made me a little nervous that they would be a problem. With use that subsided. The Hohner I have doesn't have those but it is notably tougher to get smooth clear sounds from.

The quality of this instrument is very high. It plays better than my more expensive Chromatic, it is a little fatter but light. The mouth piece is smooth and the holes are comfortable. I'm just getting used to round versus square holes, the slide is very smooth when pressed- no troubles there. I do need to relearn how to navigate a bit due to the shapes of those holes but the sound this produces is a great reward.
Good but not great,

I brought this instrument about a week ago and i have been playing blues harp for about 4-5 months. The middle to lower register is beautiful , even down to the low E, hole 2. However, as with most beginning chromatic harmonica players the draw on hole 1 is problematic.
It comes out good, but the response time is very slow.
Also the the F natural draw on hole 2 is muddied, better to use the button and blow F natural on hole 2.
Upper register. I took me a week to get the upper register above C, d, e f all come out pretty good now, pretty thin when compared to the Hohner Chromatic 64.
I had a used Hohner, but I had a problem with draw hole 1 so i returned it. Overall this is a good instrument i feel As a precocious beginner. That response time on draw 1 is critical. Just my take
Excellent Harp

For around $150 I got a fantastic chrom harp. Mine arrived in tune and well packaged. It's a nice solid instrument and feels comfortable on my mouth. The slide is reasonably quiet and the whole thing is pretty air tight. I would have been willing to spend quite a bit more for this kind of quality.
