The leap pen does not fit!!!! That was one of the reasons I bought these for my boys. Books and pen together, nicely organized.. at least that is what I thought. I thought I was doing something wrong at first, but started reading through other reviews who also expressed this was an issue.

The newest tag pen does not fit in the slot correctly. This ended up being a waste of money.

Perhaps I read this wrong, but this does NOT fit the leap reader. I was kind of under the impression that Tag and Leap Reader were the same, but that's my own fault. This case would probably be great for tag, but for Leap Reader the pen does not fit. Since I ripped all the plastic packaging off of it, I felt bad returning it. So we are using it for our Leap Reader, but the pen is just lose in the case. It is too long to fit in the pen slot. If we had the Tag reading system, I probably would have given this 5 stars, b/c it is a handy case to have around. Bigger than I expected.

I bought this storage case way before I actually had a reader system, due to the price drop. Once I realized I would be ordering the LeapReader instead of the older Tag version, I was worried that the books and/or pen would not fit correctly inside the case. I kept it anyway, waiting to get the leap reader in my hands to see if it would still be okay, knowing I could return it if needed. Once received, I learned that the LeapReader books fit fine inside the case. It's just the pen that does not fit inside the pen holder. You can still loosely place the pen inside the case, though, to carry it with your books, it just won't fit in the actual place that is made for a pen, as it was originally made for a Tag pen. I'm not bothered by that and am pleased with the purchase overall, as it allows my daughter a place to store her LeapReader pen and a few books.
