Glad i went with the cheaper version. Does everything i need it to do... brew coffee. It works, and if you are just starting out and know nothing about moka brewing i don't think there is a reason to spend a lot of money. Great value. i like it more than my espresso machine. Aaaaaand its quicker and less fussy
Great Camping coffee maker!

The build quality was not super amazing, but for a cheap espresso percolator thing, this is great. I take it camping, I've used it at home, and at work some. It makes pretty decent coffee, I'm not sure if it makes true "espresso" but it's a great coffee/espresso maker. It basically works the same way a percolator does. I think I read a review from a guy who said always leave the lid open while you're boiling it and that is TRUE! Very true. It will help avoid a mess, when you notice it's filling up the serving cup, get ready to take it off the heat, because when it gets a little too high it likes to make a mess. This is easier to pack for camping than my aeropress, it's really easy to clean, you just have to let it cool down a bit. If something were to happen to it while I'm camping, It was like 8 dollars, so at this point this guy has really easily paid for himself, and it's pretty impressive to friends I make coffee for if they don't have anything to make their own.
Hurricane Maria Lifesaver... must have my coffee.

I brought this for rustic camping about a year ago... unfortunately I haven't been camping in a while so it just sat in my supply box. I bout this style because one of my friends uses it daily.
Well fast forward a year and two hurricanes... At first I was just getting coffee at work. It's great Puerto Rican coffee but I hate paying for it. Then I remembered that I had this little thing. Luckily I have a gas stove. It has been a lifesaver.
Nothing fancy but it's the perfect amount for me in the morning. It is quick to use and easy to clean. I think it will do well once I'm able to take it camping.

Would buy again

I love it! I wish it was bigger- I got the 9 cups but it means 9 cups of espresso, not 9 standard sized cups. I knew this before I bought it which is why I made sure to get the biggest one. Only thing I hate about it vs a regular coffee maker is since you can't see inside of it, there's no perfect way to know when all of the liquid has bubbled up, but that hasn't really been an issue, I just prefer to be able to SEE everything. I use it all the time and would buy it again. And when I use the exact same coffee in this as I was using in a reggo coffee maker, it somehow tastes better. Keep in mind if you are a neat freak this thing does have the propensity to get very dirty. Mine is totally stained on the inside and out now.
Love my Latte

this arrived yesterday and though all reports said you might need to practice I had no problem..reason being I watched the video's and did exactly as they said to do. So far I have had 3 Latte's using my foamer I had and now having iced latte, all great. They taste better than my if made with my Starbucks Baresta which is about 17. Love this little guy I did get the 6 "cup" not to be compared with a regular cup...more like 6 oz.pot. So using 2 oz per drink I get three drinks . I was going to buy a more expensive machine but have always wanted to try this pot. You used to buy them in the Grocery stores and Wal-Mart but no more so "Who ya gonna buy from" AMAZON.com lol 5 stars at least for my taste. And yes it's better with fresh ground beans...which I did today. 5 stars Love it. Latte anytime I want. Oh yes and I use Lactaid to make mine as I am lactose tolerant no change in taste at all. And believe me I am a fuss pot. I bought Starbucks beans which I still need to figure just how to grind for this little one. Practice but even with it almost fine I had no problems with it.
