Good quality

It's seems to be hit or miss based on reviews of getting a pot that the lid seals. I received one that does and am impressed with the quality. Many pots of Rice and Beans coming.
Just a good Colombian pot

If you want a good pot for boiling rice or whatever, this will do it. If you want to do dutch oven recipes, yeah, don't. Aluminum and charcoal is a bad mix. ;)
Made coconut rice for my first meal with it, because yeah, caldero. Wanted to try it at least once.
Imusa makes decent aluminum pots. Handles are thick enough to hold weight, and hang, cover seemed to fit. The walls are not thin like you'd expect for most pan designs. They're intended to work directly over campfires? Makes sense. Might have needed a bit of polishing but still a great pot!
Being aluminum, you'll want to create a patina layer. Making tea or the like will create one, and then it'll not be leaching out aluminum (not that much does, either way). You don't actually want it shiny, at least on the inside.

The perfect pot!

I have always used these pots for many of my dishes for the last 30+ years. There are several dishes that aren't able to be properly cooked or cooked as well in other types of pots and pans. I used this pot for large amounts of chicken and beef stews, seafood boils, boiling tamales, and my family's favorite, my Spanish rice. There has never been a pot that cooks the rica as perfect as this does. My only complaint is that I neglected to check the measurements to get the size I wanted, only to find I received a size I already have! However 2 of these very large pots only makes it that much easier for us to make larger meals for our large family. I am now taking measurements in order to purchase this pot in the size I had originally needed!
Nice and sturdy
