Wish I'd known
cherryiiceApril 28, 2018
We are currently rerunning our fence for the second time around 4 acres bc we made the mistake of using this wire the first time. It is far too thin and broke multiple times. We are replacing it with 16 gauge wire, which should hold up much better. If you read reviews of the stronger wire, it's filled with people doing the same thing for the same reason. But no mention of those issues on the offending products listing. Really wish we had known and done it right the first time, what a nightmare!
just sucks when you have your dog's life at risk living ...
AaronMarch 31, 2018
The Dogs will be wearing the collars consistently and some times can walk right over the wire and not be shocked... I don't trust the system as much as I should and it's frustrating when we make sure the loop is on aND high and they still are able to go over it... but then on the other hand the line is close to our garage and the house and there collars reciver will get a signal from wiring in the house or something and shock them for no reason while just sitting in the house.... so idk what to think, but will continue to use it and test it to work out the kinks... bought it in December of 2017 and it's now April of 2018 .... so we shall see... just sucks when you have your dog's life at risk living near major roads and I can't put any faith in the system what so ever.... never really sure if it will work properly
Horrible spool
Mattkins99December 28, 2017
I've used three of these rolls at two houses and every single one the spools has come apart causing tangles due to a simply cheap design. It's one of those things hat probably saves the company a few pennies but infuriates customers. If you enjoy untangling hundreds of feet of wire, this is the spool for you. If you're sane and want to stay that way I'd suggest looking at other brands even if that means paying a bit more. This is one of those cases where it's really worth it.

Wire is fine though. At my old house I drove over it daily for several years with no issues. (If you can't guess I'm angry after using what I have left at my new house)
Recommend the upgraded heavier gauge wire instead.

Can't really complain since I knew what it was when I purchased it. It is what it is and I suppose it will get the job done if you're on a tight budget. Otherwise I'd recommend upgrading to a heavier gauge wire. When I first installed my invisible fence I did opt to upgrade to heavier wire. Recently I decided to change the shape of the perimeter and bought this wire to accomplish it. Comparing this to my original I wish I'd gone ahead and spent a bit more like I did originally. Neither the wire itself or the insulation is anywhere near as heavy as the wire I used originally and I'm sure durability will suffer over the longer term.
Effective and humane - and I have a very smart cat

I'm sitting here at dusk with doggie door and back slider open for fresh air. I'm totally relaxed because the PSBW installed Sunday is working perfectly and my cat is safe. Testi is a 20# castrated male measuring about 15 - 18 inches long. He's smart, cunning stubborn and adventurous. I've been tortured for 3 years with the fear of his being killed by coyotes and our 3 dogs have been equally tortured by being locked in and not being able to use their doggie doors whenever they need to (fully double fenced, and dogs can't jump 4ft & 6ft fences like cats do). All it took was 2 training sessions, once on Sunday afternoon for about 1 hr (with harness & leash), one today for about 10 minutes with just leash and collar. What a smart cat and what a great system. He found the boundaries on leash, then tested them off leash. I was unable to video bc my phone battery died just as I started my observation.
